? on ruger 77/22

Recommended Posts

does anybody know if you can fire .22short and .22long as well as the reccommended .22LR out of the ruger 77/22 bolt action rifle?

i dont see why you couldnt as long as you load each one separately as a single shot, since i highly doubt that they would feed from the rotary magazine.

Yes...there is no problem doing this at all single fed.

The .22 longs (often seen as CCI CB Longs) will feed through the magazine just fine. Don't try .22 Shorts in the mag as they will jamb...Brownells actually sells a modified magazine in case you want to shoot shorts in it. It is made for a 10/22 but will still work aside from the magazine profile not matching the stock.

If you have a 77/22 Magnum...it will NOT work as there is actually a .001 to 0.002 difference in diameter and anything L.R. is smaller will cause dangerous conditions in the gun via split cases and blowback.
