Nice. My 18 year old daughter wouldn't have done so well, unfortunately. She won't touch a firearm. My 20 year old would have stood her ground & fired, which isn't much better. Smart girl & smart mom! Good for them!

Rarely do these stories work out this well; kudos to the mom as well for being able to think clearly knowing your child was in a very dangerous situation.

According to Bryan County Undersheriff Ken Golden, the shooting was justifiable and there were no wrong actions on the girl's part. He said that she armed herself with the Glock pistol after her mother told her to do so over the phone.

"She had been on the phone with her mother, who told her to get the gun, get in a closet and call 911," Golden said.

The only difference in our house is that I would want our 12 year old to be moving through the house performing room clearing procedures with a machine gun :rofl:
