We do not buy often. But this big pot was just to hard to resist. We bought 2, so for a total of $4 I can dream a bit.

Pay off all bills.
Put the rest into a savings fund and set up all interest to be transferred into the checking account. Just live off the interest. **sigh**

I play when it goes over 300 million. But this time, they claimed the odds were 175 million to one of winning. But reading that tickets were selling at a rate of 135,000 per minute the two days prior to the drawing, the odds may have dropped a little.

If gambling were the only possible vice, I could easily qualify as a saint. Bought a couple of tickets when TN first got the lottery years ago.

Thing is, SOMEBODY always wins, and if you DON'T play you have zero odds of winning, but if you DO play at least you have astronomically tiny odds of winning. Didn't Jeff Foxworthy have a joke something about, if winning the lottery is your retirement plan...

The odds never drop. It is fixed on the total possible number combinations.

I don't usually play the lottery, but I donated $10 this time. At $580M, I had to give it a try. :)

Dont gamble much, not real up on odds. There are about 12 Casino's within 30 miles of me. I dont go into any of them (Except to eat on occasion). From my understanding they have a State requirement to have a 92% payback or something like that. Being required a 92% payback to me doesnt seem like good "odds". I dont see the point in dropping a dollar in a machine when the Casino is only required to give me back 92 cents every time I do. Plus, there are signs all up and down the highway between Jackson and Vicksburg that say "Win $10,000! of Five people will win $5000" then you see in the news where just two of them, Riverwalk and Diamond Jacks bring in 160 million each MONTH. Thats a lot of people losing 8 cents on a dollar until they are broke. I do know people win, but not enough to justify the higher prospect of losing. (To me)
