Stolen pistol

Whoever stole my pistol and glasses from my truck this weekend-- I hope you put on the glasses and cannot see, shoot yourself in the foot and your mother runs around barking and cannot get anyone to help you!

If you run across a Green/blued Keltec P-3AT serial number   JR649    Please be aware it is stolen.

Other than that, Have a Merry and safe Christmas!

Sorry to hear that!

I had one stolen in '06 but was later returned when the DCSD was evicting a woman from one of the projects and found it in her apt.  Don't know if she was charged with having stolen property or not but I was just happy to get the gun back. Maybe you will too!

Sorry to hear this will keep a look out, I had a gun stolen from my house many years ago, had given up on ever seeing it again 5 years later the local pd calls & says come pick up your gun - I knew who stole it but had no proof - it had been through roughly 20 people in those 5 years - a browning hp looked pretty rough but still functioned & was as accurate as ever. Good luck getting yours back

The worse thing I think you can do is post the serial number up on here. You would be better off only telling the police and hoping whoever took it thinks you didnt report it stolen. Maybe it will go to a pawn shop or the serial numbers get ran while on a traffic stop. If someone knows it stolen it will go in deep hiding and only come out during a crime or it may become someones throw away weapon because they know it's stolen.
People ask me all the time to run a serial. I say I will but if it's hot I have to keep it. They say oh, never mind.

I had a couple of firearms taken in a burglary of my house about a year and a half ago. I hope you get yours back. I haven't heard a word. Even though I knew who did it, nothing was done. On the bright side, the thief moved out a few days later. The funny part is, he had several warrants listed on the sheriffs department website and they didn't even know the previous address they had listed was false. I pointed this out to them and they still have it listed.

It makes you sick! I had it happen to me about 15 years ago.  I've never heard a word from the police.  I don't expect to either.  But still file a police report.  Maybe someday you will get it back.

if im not mistaken... those only stay in NCIC for a year and then they drop off... so if you haven't gotten it back within a year you have to report it every year

I would like to see thieves receive a far stiffer punishment. If you look at all violent criminals the majority start out as a petty thief. If the first time they got caught stealing they were tossed in jail for 3-5 years, no early release or good time, they would probably not do any crime again. As it stands a thief can be caught several times before getting the first day in jail. I say the first sentence should be the most stiff.

I know of a lady that stole $60K worth of gift cards. Her sentence was 3 years unsupervised probation. She has since started collecting disability because of the traima of being caught. And she is not going to pay restitution. I would have rather her spent the next decade in jail.

I do not think this is accurate.  I had several rifles stolen from my business back in 1995.  I receive a call every 2-5 years from the police dept. asking me if I had recovered them, and I simply say no, they just say thank you.  I did have a gun recovered 4-5 years ago in another jurisdication from the same breakin, so I know there is a record somewhere.
