Recent acquisition - Smith & Wesson M&P 9L (56k, big pics, eat a sammich)

This hasn't been a priority for me so it took a while to get around to doing this. Last week I swapped in a stainless non-captured guide rod and 13# recoil spring from Speed Shooter Specialties.

This combination made the M&P 9L function perfectly on the range yesterday. It was tight, controllable and never experienced a failure to eject. The only problem we had, completely unrelated, was when a mag follower got hung up inside the mag tube and caused a cluster-F of rounds inside the magazine. I will take the mags apart the next time I clean the gun and run a brass brush down into them and knock out any roughness that might be there.

Next up for the weapon are some better sights. Probably a set of Bowie Tactical / Ameriglo tritium sights in their Operator cut.

I may end up buying another 4-inch .40SW M&P again later and a compact 9mm for my wife. My mind will be better made up the more time I get with the 9L. I think Smith and Wesson may have gotten most of their kinks worked out by now.
