"New York's Democrat Gov. Andrew Cuomo is rescinding his ban on 10-round magazines after realizing that most gun manufacturers don't make magazines smaller than 10 rounds.

His original restrictions were that no magazines holding more than seven rounds could be sold within the state, but he realized after-the-fact that such a rule turns into a de factoban on almost every magazine manufactured."

"There is no such thing as a seven-bullet magazine. That doesn't exist, so you really have no practical option," Cuomo said."

"New Yorkers will still be required to keep no more than seven bullets in them, except at shooting ranges and competitions."

Seriously, why even make laws this stupid. Oh yeah, emotion.

So…. I wonder how these geniuses decided on the number 7, spin a wheel, throw a dart?
And it didn’t stop there. By trying to act like he knew something; he continued to show his ignorance.

Yeah I thought the same thing. I have at least 5, 7 rounders. Or course they are all 1911 mags, but they most certainly do exist.

I've always thought because of Kimber, maker of 1911's.

BTW, how does a Governor rescind a law that has already been passed by the lesislative body and signed by his majesty?

Politicians are the ones that need universal background checks and mental exams. They are far more dangerous than firearms. Especially to this country.

Every day, they prove that the Liberal camp is making decision after decision all across the country about a subject they are totally lost on, and don't even care to gather any facts or knowledge at all on the subject. They are simply passing "feel good" laws at the expense of American freedom. Don't forget these are the same people that wrote Obamacare in the same manner. Wait until that crap kicks in all the way.

I bet he probably knew but just didnt care until someone pointed out it could lead to solid legal trouble against his precious baby.

My thought exactly.  He changed it because he was told it would help him win the lawsuit that is currently being waged against the "Safe Act".  That is the only reason.  If he and his cronies could legally get by with changing the capacity limit to 1 round they would do it in a heart beat.  I am 100% convinced that the ultimate goal of people like Cuomo, Bloomberg, Obama, Biden, Feinstein, Durbin, and the Brady bunch is to eventually get a ban on all firearms.  They may not get there in this decade or the next, but that is their ultimate goal.

The banning of "assault weapons" and "high capacity magazines" is to set a precedent.  They want to ban an entire class of firearms, so that when they go after handguns and other firearms it will be a bit easier to achieve.  If they ever get any sort of ban, they will immediately start priming the government and the American people for the next one.

With someone like him, details don't matter. He didn't have a clue. The de facto dictator of New York state

doesn't need to do anything else.

I'm sure the law will stay on the books for when it is needed by the dictator. Just in case.
