These aint knives; but they are very nice:

They were done by a great guy by the name of Steve Liley, Coal Creek Forge, near Alton, IL.  Steve doesnt have a website; but he used to post on knifeforums.  His e-mail (...which he watches and answers very quickly...) is ccfms@sbcglobal.net; .  These are what Steve calls his "plain jane" working hawks.  As ya can see they look great.  The total time from the first e-mail till delivery wuz 10 calendar days.  Very quick service by any yardstick on "made to order" stuff.  The hawks are made of old jackhammer drill points (...a very good steel...) and are hand forged by Steve.  They weigh about 19 or 20 oz and come with about a 20 or so inch handles.  The pictures do not do justice to the great workmanship in these hawks.

As ya can see now, im ready to repell borders if i run out of powder and shot.  Otherwise, ill just use these great tools to lop of a limb or two when i need to; or just carry 'em around to ward off any potential malingerers or 'neer do wells.

Sounds like a great price, I will probably have to drop him a line.

I'm guessing his stock is dirt cheap or free.

The stock is about 5% of my cost in blacksmithing. Even if he is using a power hammer, thats a lot of hot, heavy work to forge those out.
