It's an Illinois thing. Don't forget, politicians have their own cell block at the state pen in Illinois, and it stays occupied. :)

Pretty cool that I can now carry from my door to my FIL's without breaking any silly IL laws! Now I just cross my fingers for some future reciprocity so I can possibly actually exit my vehicle in route in IL should I need gas or something. . . .

 

I would apply for the out of state permit but. . . when I called to start the process today I was told(again) that FOID cards are only issued to residents of IL. The law states that they will allow out of state IL permits but it looks like it will be a PITA to get as I pretty well already expected. :yuck:
