Will/does the FBI prosecute people who make comments against whites, blacks, hispanics, Jews, Christians, etc... or just Muslims?

Having a meeting on it means that they have already decided that it will be policy. The meeting is to gauge negative response. This is a done deal IMO, once you venture off the Constitution and make law by VERY loose interpretation using policies then it is already here.

I think they are referring to threatening statements made on social media not general statements against the Islamic faith. Threats based on a persons faith are absolutely a civil rights violation. Whether or not we want to believe it, there are folks out there that threaten to hurt or kill a person because they worship a certain religion. The religion itself should be inconsequential when considering the crime, as in it is just as much a crime to threaten someone because they are practicing Islam as it is to threaten someone who is practicing Christianity.

The only reason folks aren't prosecuted more for threats made on social media is because they are usually 12 year old boys behind the keyboard and aren't perpetrated by serious people, yet it is still a crime.
