Camber? I thought that was something that caused tire wear on a car when the alignment is out if spec.

Sent from my mind using ninja telepathy.

In all of the excitement of having to use a handgun to defend yourself, you may only get one chance. I do not want to screw it up by forgetting to rack the slide. I always keep one in the chamber. I would carry two in the chamber if I could.

I carry two guns. One is not chambered and the other is. If it gets to the point I need the second one the extra time won't matter I guess.

sent barefoot from the hills of Tennessee

Asking seriously..... Why is your backup not chambered?

Maybe I am the only person in Tennessee that does this, but I carry with an empty chamber.  My home Defense handgun is also empty chamber.

I have given it a lot of thought, as I am sure you have your method.  I am comfortable with this.

If you have children around, like this beautiful child above, any gun that is around them should not be chambered. If one of mine got killed by my gun, I would have a very very hard time going on living. Otherwise, go for it. JMO?

An unsecured firearm around children, it should be unloaded not just minus one in the chamber.

When my kids were younger that is the main reasoned I carried on my person even at home.

If you have children around, a gun should not be accessible to them at all regardless of one in the chamber or unloaded.  I have two small children and my bedside gun and kitchen gun are both secured in a GunVault, fully loaded.  When they become of age, and are responsible enough to know, I will tell them what the combination is in case there is ever a need for them to get to it.  But that will be a LONG time.  It took me a while to even let my wife know what the combination is.
