Almost makes you want one in the "raw".

So the most obvious question now is when do we get to start putting all these pieces we have laying around in them David?!

It's still going to be a little while, yet.

Uppers are still being machined.  Per the last update I got from Jeff, they plan to ship them out to be anodized on the 18th.  With the holiday, they hope to have them back and start shipping them out by the 10th of December.  So, assuming everything proceeds as planned, we should have no problem with having these in folks hands in time for Christmas - just like we originally hoped.

I think I want to go with a standard 16" (including whatever) on this upper. But I an also thinking I may want to have a pistol in my collection at some point so I may go with that first. Is it reasonable to put a pistol barrel on the upper then swap it with a standard later or would I be best advised to get a completely separate upper for that and keep them mated for life?

Well... I wasn't going to get excited about this. Now, I have parts piled in my living room floor. They look great!

Am I the only one who has gone onto Brownells AR15 Builder and tried to visualize what theirs will look like at the end?  I'm going with a Daniel Defense S2W mid-length 18" barrel and a YHM Phantom flash hider.  I think it's gonna look SAH-WEEEEEET!

I think I'm going to use the Noveske key-mod rail system on mine...

A friend on mine used one for his latest build. It's Noveske, so you already know the quality it top notch. Very lightweight, too. He failed to do his homework, so he didn't realize he needed a specialty tool (1-1/16" crowfoot wrench) to install the rail. He also realized (too late, of course) the smaller than normal inner diameter wouldn't allow him to use any of his suppressors.

I will personal take a man card from any man that shows up at the range with that stuff on their firearm.

OK I have a question about the shipping on on our orders. If we selected a FFL we don't usually do business with is it necassry for us to get in touch with them and let them know what we have coming?

Your information will be sent with the receivers, but it is a good idea to give them a call and let them know to be expecting the delivery. I'm going to wait to make the call until the delivery date gets a bit closer.

Like any FFL, CMT must have a copy of your FFL's license on file before they can send to it. Sometimes the two FFLs will communicate and get that done, but sometimes you have to prod the receiving FFL to do that.

I'm sure the few receiving FFLs that have been designated for this sale are good to go, but you ought to check on any others.

Meant to add, the license copy on file must be current, too as to date and address. So when an FFL renews one, or changes address, a new copy has to be on file with the shipping FFL.

Ran into this with one about a year ago, my fav FFL moved next door, but address was different and didn't match what the shipper had on file, had to wait until mine got their updated license from ATF and sent it.
