Good choice!  Congrats, and I look forward to seeing your first range report!

And when you want to zero it, check out this read:

And here's a 25m target that'll give you a 100m zero (and other distances to based on personal preference):

Dunno where he got his aim point from but you can get an aim point and aluminum flip up sites from PSA right now for $409. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/featured/aimpoint-patrol-rifle-optic-pro-andpsa-aluminum-flip-up-front-and-rear-sight-set.html

I have an Aimpoint PRO and can hit at 300 on steel but not 100% but it is mostly about seeing the target which is really difficult unless conditions are perfect like high contrast between target and surroundings like freshly painted white plates.... 200 is more realistic and quite easy... ACOG at 4 power is like cheating at longer ranges like 300... just picked up a 1x4 but haven’t shot it yet but seems like a best of both worlds especially if you go illuminated

Aimpoint PRO is probably the best quality/value optic out there at the moment.  The Vortex Sparc is good for a normal shooters needs, but won't hold up like the Aimpoint will.

For scopes, any Vortex scope is good, and they have a few budget friendly models like the Strike Eagle from the right vendors.  I've heard good things about the Primary Arms ones, but haven't gotten to see them up close.

Holy necro thread.

Time travel is fun! ;)

I have an Aimpoint PRO and love that sucker. As mentioned it's a great value and quality made.

I also have a couple of Primary Arms Advanced Micro Dots and they serve me very well.

I need to take a look at the Strike Eagle and PA offerings.

Lol.

I've become a big fan of the lpvo scopes as of late, but at least one of my rifles has a dot.

Well this was a fun trip down memory lane.

So battleground Vegas has found holosun built red dots to hold up well and they have fantastic battery life.

Primary arms 3x magnifier has really good clarity. Add on a flip to side moubt and you have a fantastic combo. This is what I use on my hunting AR pistol.
