Wow, an AR with 5 barrels! Can hardly wait to see this baby!

Make sure to get an adjustable gas block as well. A properly tuned gas system reduces felt recoil to nearly nothing and with a brake it is nothing. I have a 5 pound AR that feels like a 22.

All the gas blocks in the picture are adjustable. I bought a JP adjustable for my Grendel build

I've pretty well decided that the Syrac is what I am using for the rifle i'm building now. Have seen many great reviews and almost no negative.

they are coming out with a gen 2 version that eliminates the detent pin.  The adjustment screw is a set screw that clicks.

How did the detent pin version work? After reading the description of the Syrac block on Midway I was under the impression that it was a click type adjustment. Maybe I misunderstood it though. When is the gen2 block supposed to come out?

i looked on their FB page and they don't have any information on ETA.  Their website doesn't show any information on release dates either.  On the V1, I believe the detent pin has to be pushed in to change the adjustment screw.  The V2 doesn't need the detent because it a click adjustment

Gotcha, Thanks for the info. Hopefully they will have it out before I have to order one.

Looks like the perfect solution for your build. I wish the JP blocks had some kind of detent system. You gotta glue them with loctite

I've got their current version cooking in my Midway wish list (along with mags and such). I think i'd be tickled with having to push the pin, no more than i'll be adjusting it but it would be nice to get this updated version and not have to worry with it. I've seen that about the JP blocks and really took reading several reviews from different time frames for me to believe it was really a problem and not just a bad batch or someone inept person trying to do something that was over their head.

OP i'm interested to see what else you've got planned.

I will own one if it's not too ridiculous in price PS ARFCOM says they were supposed to ship to Brownells by end of November but they had no control over how long Brownells takes to get them on their sight Edited by Lumber_Jack
