I like it! I think with that setup i'd skip on the weaponlight though and make it single purpose. I'm no expert on all the various parts out there, but this seems more like a precision shooter.

Thanks guys.  I was debating on a Salient or WarSport LVOA, but their lead times were like 8-12 weeks so I decided to do my own build.

If you run an adjustable gas block it is easier to tune rather than the spring kits. Also, having the gas tuned correctly keeps the gun a lot cleaner, reduces felt recoil and reduces wear. And you can get a nice quality gas block for $50.

Yep. Good job. I really like the looks of the Geissele handguard, but not a big fan of the receiver clamping scheme. Not that it won't be rock solid. It's just gonna leave permanent marks.

The tolerance between the barrel nut and rail is so tight that you don't even need the two slide clamps.  You could remove the two screws and run

without it.  The two main screws that go through the barrel nut hold the rail on very tight by it self.

Right. All the free float guards I own rely on barrel nut torque to keep them from spinning. I got lot's of respect for Bill Geissele, but have equal or more respect for the folks at Daniel Defense when it comes to handguards. Very few folks would have gone to the same trouble to make that hanguard fit. Who knows how that little twist made it into the design.

Took the rifle out and worked on getting the Burris zeroed in.  I don't do a lot of distance shooting so I don't know if this is good, but think I could have gotten a little tighter grouping with a little more magnification.  The 4x with the donut reticle is great for close range.  I'm still playing around with the gas/buffer/springs/comp so I'll post some video of some shooting once i get it dialed in.

Looks great to me for a 4x. I'm normally careful to keep my scope mount on the receiver rail, and off the handguard. You probably want a higher power scope for just evaluating the accuracy of the rifle. With that said, you're doing better with a 4x than my old eyes could do.

Yep looks really good for 100yds and 4x. If you got some precision ammo or handloads you could probably tighten that up even more. It a 10x scope. I'm young and 4x is hard for me to see .223 at 100yds

 You can definitely tell when you were behind it. How are you liking the scope? Burris wasn't it

Yeah my finger couldn't keep up with the trigger.  I can tell how people could end up bump fire with it unintentionally.  The BC 1.5 was okay, but still had too much muzzle rise. Switched it out to the JP comp and what a night and day difference.  The BC is more of a flash hider/comp combination muzzle device and more for military application where you may care about flash signature.  The JP comp is by no means a flash hider and does a great job of directing the gas to the side with those two large ports and four smaller top ports.  If you are standing to the side of it, you definitely feel it in your chest.  

 

The felt recoil is straight back into my shoulders and I can maintain sight picture with a mag dump. The Burris XTR is good. I don't have much to compare it to but for the money, I don't think you will find better glass. The 1x give quick target pickup. I paid 575 shipped for it in Calguns used. And that included the fastfire3 and PEPR mount which I turned around and sold for 225.
