Anybody here rework an SKS trigger?

Recommended Posts

You might want to pick up an extra trigger assembly and tinker with it on your own.  20 years ago, these were $10 per assembly.  I use to sell them from my shop.  Many people bought these.  I suspect, someone knew how to really soup one up!  This retailer has them for $90, and I believe they have the market on them now.  Otherwise, someone else will have to chime in.

Yup, got the tools and springs to fix it.  Send the trigger pack in and I'll get it cleaned up for ya, there's a little bit of fun involved in getting the hammer out but its not bad.

I'm usually a do it yourself sort of guy. What do you charge for a trigger job?

That is a very nice gesture. Thanks for the offer.

I've been stoning and polishing on the sear and hammer a bit, and it might be some better than it was when I started. I think I'll tinker with it some more first.

You were correct. That hammer spring is strong! I had to chase down parts the first time I took it apart. Maybe I've got it figured out now. I just don't want to remove too much metal, so I'm going at it a little at a time.

No worries, if you hit a dead-end just give us a call.  Almost done with all the barrel work for the year so we're just gonna be boxing up parts/equipment for the Nashville relocation so there ain't gonna be much going on here through January
