So you want to see a picture of some of the Walmart problem?

Recommended Posts

Took this at the Old Fort Murfreesboro location about 8 pm.  Sign says all ammo received comes out at 8:30 pm no exceptions.  I hung around for a bit to watch and then thought about the discussions on here about taking pictures, so here is a picture.

I overheard a snippet of a conversation between the guy in the red seated and the other seated guy.  Guy in red said he sells all the .22 he gets for .10 a round.  That's double what WM charges.  The other seated guy must be a hoarder as he says he doesn't sell much but has 4,000 rounds at the house.  The guy standing is talking to someone just to his right that I couldn't get in the picture for obvious reasons.  I was trying to be discrete in taking the pics as to not get a disturbance started.  All 4 guys are regulars as the Walmart guy spoke to each using first names at different times while I was there.

This location got in 3 boxes of 1000 round .22 and 10 boxes of the 555 round Winchester .22.  They were all gone by the sixth person in line, with the fifth buying the last box of .22 and 2 boxes of the 9mm that came in also.

Where do they put the ammo "out" does it go on the shelf ? Or does the clerk have to yank it!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 of course it ate my spelling.

In this case, because they knew this was a hot load and people waiting, they rolled the cart from the stock area to behind the register around 8:15 or so and opened the boxes to put on the tax stamp.  Then the .22 and the 9mil was set in the box next to the register.  Ammo boxes went from delivery box to register scan to walmart sack to customer.

So Wal-Mart is selling used chairs as new?

Another guy standing there said the same thing.  I said that if I knew the names of the fellows, I would go get the chairs embroidered with their names and have them set out when they got there.  He laughed.

If they needed the ammo for personal use and felt that squatting on the stoop was the only way to get it, I wouldn't give two craps about it. But knowing there are guys who really do need it (and KIDS) it ticks me off. But can I tell the ones who lie just to keep us off their backs from the truthful ones? No, and that's what really pisses me off. If I hit the lottery, I'm having a .22 giveaway and I'm asking the kids how the parents treat them before I decide how much they get! :)

LMAO Hey guys, lets all show up there and say we're going camping and need some chairs. Look at the ones they are sitting in and say "I'll take those"

OR......we can go in after they leave and hide all the chairs and let them stand up the next time they come in....I know, not gonna be feasible but the idea made me happy thinking of them looking at empty shelves where the chairs used to be. Hell they'd just grab coolers and sit on them....Dang

Walmart IS the problem. By posting the times the ammo will be set out does nothing but give the same old crowd of resellers a constant weekly supply of product to put on armslist or gunshow sales. Walmart and all the other stores that do this don't give a crap or they would change the way the are doing business. I know they couldn't care less, but it's a very rare occasion that I go to Walmart. I buy 90% of shooting and hunting gear online. I do buy ALL of my fishing gear at a local custom tackle shop just because they are great guys, handle everything I use in their store, and go the extra mile for their customers.....like in the old days.

So who is going to post this on Armslist as well as the local Facebook pages? We need to shame these guys into staying at home.

I am going to call the Walmart this morning and ask for the manager then I am going to ask for their district manager. I am going to make the biggest stink you have ever seen about this.

I know I have heard similar locally but I still find it hard to believe someone at the warehouse loaded a truck with

3 boxes of 1000 round .22 and 10 boxes of the 555 round Winchester .22.

Seriously, someone said, lets put 3 boxes of 1000 round on a truck?  I bet Walmart gets in a pallet and probably just trickling it out.

So Wal-Mart is selling used chairs as new?

Complain to mgmt about that one.  :D

The Free Market isn't always Roses and can be ditch sometimes (d=b ).  I much prefer the free market to other types of markets.

An excerpt from the definition of Socialism:

A socialist economic system is based on the organizational precept of production for use, meaning the production of goods and services to directly satisfy economic demand and human needs where objects are valued based on their use-value or utility, as opposed to being structured upon the accumulation of capital and production for profit.[6] In the traditional conception of a socialist economy, coordination, accounting and valuation would be performed in kind (using physical quantities), by a common physical magnitude, or by a direct measure of labor-time in place of financial calculation.[7][8] Distribution of output is based on the principle of to each according to his contribution. The exact methods of resource allocation and valuation are the subject of debate within the broader socialist calculation debate.

In the Marxist theory of historical materialism, it is predicted that further advances in technology and the productive forces will give rise to a more advanced stage of development referred to as communism, a society in which classes and the state are no longer present, and there is access abundance to final goods, and thus distribution is based on to each according to his need.

Personally I've quit looking for ammo at WM. I'd rather buy it anywhere else. I was getting my receipts in order for taxes and I only shopped at Walmart 6 times last year.

Same here except that I never really shopped Walmart for ammo in the first place. My time is far to valuable to waste it running around from store to store hoping to find what amounts to table scraps for ammo; I search the internet for good deals on ammo and when I find it I buy as much as I can reasonably afford to buy no matter if I need it or not. While I don't consider myself a "hoarder" I've generally got 1K to 4K of .22LR, 9MM, 44ACP, 5.56 & 7.62 on hand at any time; I've not suffered through this ammo shortage by any means and neither has my close family members either....

If the guy in the picture labeled as the hoarder only has 4K squirreled away then he is not doing a very good job of it... LOL

This really sucks for people like me, my work schedule changes week to week and I don't know what it will be until the Friday or sometimes Saturday before the schedule starts on Sunday. I have managed to put back 300 rounds of 9mm since this time last year and about 200 rounds of 5.56 and when neither of those were available I would pick up 20rd boxes of my different hunting calibers. I haven't bought any .22 in over a year, I'm so over this ammo situation its beyond words. I bought a gamo air rifle to use in place of my .22 since pellets are cheap and available.
