Savage Hog Hunter stock suggestions

I've sort of commited to buying one of these:  http://www.savagearms.com/firearms/model/11HOGHUNTER

I was wondering what aftermarket stocks other TGO'rs might have used in place of the flexible OEM stock.  I'm looking for the least expensive non-tactical  standard rifle profile stock that could take a bipod if it had to in a pinch.  I've read about the steel rod epoxy fix for the OEM stock and I am not much interested in that option, yet.  I want to shoot .308 but will hopefully be gravitating to cast .32 caliber small game bullets.

Thanks for suggestions

Have tried Boyds Stocks?

Their stock are Quality pieces.Seeing as the barrel on that rifle is MEDIUM CONTOUR you may have to go with a Bull barrel stock.

Or get a Standard and open up the barrel channel.

I kept the synthetic stock on mine because after I added a blackout flash hider, Nikon Buckmasters mil-dot, cheek riser and triad tactical stock pad it got real heavy for hunting.  I may upgrade one day and put new bottom metal with a detachable box mag but thats more money and more weight that I dont need right now.

I just picked up one in .308, and have also been toying with a replacement stock. I would think either Boyd's or Hogue would be the best bets for the money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
