Ok, y'all helped me pick a revolver a few threads down. Now, I have a Smith and Wesson 442 and need a holster. Probably two holsters, pocket and ankle. Or maybe three, pocket, in the waistband and ankle. So, what material, brand and price?

Thanks

Terry

ankle-  Galco Ankle Glove

Pocket- Aholster available at      http://www.lefthandholster.com/

You can't beat the thinness of Kydex for pocket carry IMHO.  I've ordered two holsters from Aholster and they are high quality and work well.  One has seen lots of use and has help up really well.

IWB-  lots of good options.  A good stiff leather like High Noon might work well.  Kydex works well too.  Can't go wrong unless you want leather and cheap.  If you want good functionality at a reasonable price I'd go kydex.  If you want a little more comfort and a classier look get high end leather.  The cheapest leather holster I've liked for IWB is the Galco Summer comfort.

galco ankle glove and galco belt holster is the only way to go.   all ways buy a good named brand holster they last longer and hold up better.  don't go cheap when it comes to your holster and belt.

Especially on the belt! Whatever you carry, you want something that will support your gun and not sag and pull your pants down to your knees. Or one you've got to keep tugging back into place.

The cost of a good belt may seem unnecessary...but believe all of us; it will be the best thing you can do in the long(and short)run for ease and comfort.

For a ankle holster, if you want something less bulky than the Galco Ankle Glove, go with the Galco Cop Ankle band. It doesn't hold it as secure as the Ankle Glove but it's a good trade off in my opinion. I've had mine for about 5-6 years and have been pleased.
