There was a reason I didn't drive that way at lunch today. Saw what I took to be the advance Security cruising around yesterday.

Wife just spent an hour sitting in the parking lot of Willow Ridge Nursery on the east end of Oak Ridge Turnpike because an officer pulled into the driveway, blocked it and would not allow any one to exit the parking lot.  It was 45 minutes before the motorcade passed and the officer didn't clear the driveway until 15 minutes after the motorcade was gone.

There are far more Obama supporters in east Tennessee than you guys are leading us to believe. Seems that he is very comfortable in your neck of the woods. :)

He got 960,709 votes in '12, 39.04%.  3 of the 4 counties he won are in yer neck of the woods and the 4th ain't in E. TN either. ;)

I'm sure some people traveled to see him, I heard an interview with a UTC student earlier today.

I'm sure he's quite comfortable traveling around disrupting everyone's day.

I'm stuck here where Pellissippi and Edgemoor merge. I'm about 100 yards away from the cop, so looks like I left work 5 minutes late. I'd like to thank his highness for allowing me to unwind after work in what would have a hectic drive home. Planning his visit around drive time was thoughtful.

I work close to where Pellissippi Parkway exits onto Lovell Road.  There has been a low-flying helicopter passing by here off and on all day.  One just did a fly-over and now I see State Troopers on motorcycles going by on Pellissippi.  I got a pic of the helicopter on its last pass.  For folks who think that black helicopters are an urban legend:

Aaaaaand there go the Trooper SUVs, the black SUVs and a handful of black limos.  So, POTUS just passed within a probably a couple hundred yards of where I am sitting at my desk.  I feel the sudden need to scrub everything down with bleach.

I'm going home the back way that should completely avoid his route.

Air Force 1 flew over my house on its way out at 5:33. I was very surprised to see no obvious escorts.

During my wait I heard lots of jet activity overhead, although I couldn't actually see any of them. I also noticed one of the boat ramp areas along his route was closed to the public, and there was a marine patrol boat of some sort in the water. I also saw that helicopter make a few passes while I was waiting.

Didn't go anywhere today so I wasn't held up by this carnival parade. I retired from Pellissippi State about 1 year ago. Had I still been there I would probably have gotten fired for standing with the protestors.
