Meat in the freezer.
LBL

Iron sights at 80 yds (deer facing head on) with a Ruger Super Redhawk .44 Mag

Best part is my 79 year old dad was walking about 75 yds behind me and saw the whole thing.

Bagged my first deer ever on Saturday morning in Culleoka. I was on my aunt and uncle's property in a stand when this guy follwing a doe came up from behind me. I shot him about 30 yards out with my Savage 110 30-06 (recent purchase from Guns and Leather for a steal) with Nikon Prostaff scope. He ran about ten yards before falling.

Hope to get back out soon because there are at least 4 doe on the property, and my aunt says she's spotted a 10-pointer running around too.

Shot this one this afternoon with my new 300BLK AR Pistol. I'm at home in WV, lots of opportunities to shoot does here, very over populated, so I decided to put some meat in the freezer.

She was a pretty good size doe. When I dropped her off at the processor she was as big as some of the bucks in there.

9MM XDM with hand loaded 147 XTPs and AAC Ti-rant. The shot was 35 yards through the heart and I got full penetration. The deer went about 45 yards and expired. I do a fair amount of videoing of subsonic hunting, but I was unable to get this one on film.

Why are you hiding your face? Just curious.... Nice deer though!

The short answer is that there are crazy people in this world and I'm just too damn pretty. :tinfoil:  The truck in the pic is not mine and on several different forums I am listed as living in different towns. I would love to post pics of my daughters' old 8 1/2  10 point, but her face is definitely not going on here. It should be back from the taxidermist in a few weeks and I may post pics of it then. My wife has been stalked to the point that the guy broke into her house and wrote a message on her bedroom mirror. It escalated to the point that she had to flee the state she was from.

The funny thing about the deer is that I had to let a doe and a 135 class 8 point walk that morning. The owner of the land has strict rules on what may or may not be shot. No does, no old bucks under 140, and no young bucks no matter what size. He does require you to shoot a young doe at the end of the year for his freezer. It's a burden, but one I'm willing to endure. :)
