Recommendations for a new tumbler

My tumbler finally quit on me. I guess that means it's time to upgrade. What do you guys suggest that won't break the bank? I'm not really wanting to spend $200-$300 on a tumbler. There are several under $100 but I'm not sure which one is better.

I have an RCBS that quit not too long ago. I bought a Lyman Turbo Twin...comes with 2 different sized bowls. Has done a pretty good job so far since I purchased a couple weeks back.... Edited March 9, 2015 by jacob

I have a Tumblers tumber, drum that goes round and round.

Is that what you are look for or a vibrating bowl?

+1 on the tumblers tumbler.  Its a tank that does 360 over and over and over and over.   Unless you do bulk, then get a cement mixer from Harbor Freight.

I've been using a Lyman Pro 1200 for a number of years and it has worked well for me but I don't do a ton of tumbling so YMMV.

Frankford Arsenal or Cabela's (rebranded Berry's).

The green tumbler on my bench if you remember it is Cabela's and holds more brass than the FA one I have. I used to have the Lyman 1200 and the Cabela's one can hold double the amount. Not that expensive, and Berry's has a good warranty if anything breaks.

I have the 12lb model. Bought it used on eBay and have cleaned thousands of cases. Would not hesitate to recommend wet tumbling regardless of the brand.

Wet tumbling looks to be great, but at the moment I'm putting all extra funds into the ar308 budget.

Check with harbor freight's site. They have two vibrating tumblers. The small one is about $60 and the big one is around $150. They advertise the big one as being waterproof. When my Dillon dies that's where I'm going.

The frankford arsenal rotrary tumbler with ss pins does a really good job on dirty brass, deprimed brass comes out looking like new. I only use my vibrator tumbler to clean lube off of sized brass and to shine loaded ammo, with a dab of wax , to preserve the finish, for long term storage of loaded ammo.

I'm still using the original tumbler from when I started reloading. I accidentally broke the bowl and emailed to ask about buying another. They insisted on sending me one for free. The motor is still as strong as the day I bought it. 

 

If you catch them on sale, you can get the tumbler, media, media separator, et. al in one kit for around $65.

I'm still using the same smaller of the two Harbor Freight vibratory tumblers that I've been using for 3 years now. It's has tumbled 10's of thousands of pieces of brass and loaded rounds, if I had to wager a guess I'd say somewhere around 40,000-50,000 pcs tumbled but could be more. The only issue I've had has been the wing nut that holds the lid on, its very soft Stella and stripped out. I replaced that and was good to go.
