carry a skunk into the state!

This one really gets me.  I seriously I always wanted a pet skunk (fixed of course).  Closest state I could have got one at the time was FL.  I even read the book on how to care for them.  Trust me, there are some things to know if you are serous about getting one.  But it is against the law for me to do so.

In the great state of TN it is illegal to give or receive oral sex, shoot any game from a moving automobile except a WHALE, sell a hollow log, and carry a skunk into the state!!! LMBO I thought these were really funny.

I don't see a problem with any of these.

So you can have 2 charges against you if you pick up a hooker off the street for a $20 quicky huh?

I promise I don't do that sort of thing.  :)

Those are just archaic local laws from various places around the state I guess.

Although it's illegal to transport any wildlife around as per state law.

Yep, My son had a skunk problem in the crawlspace of his home. There is a TWRA agent at his work, and he asked if they would pick them up if he caught them. The TWRA guy said they don't do that, so my son mentioned that he would probably just relocate the skunks then. The TWRA guy said that it was illegal to transport wildlife, and he could get in big trouble. Guy said it was completely OK to kill them though. They discussed ways to kill the skunks, and since you can't shoot even a BB gun in Oak Ridge, the guy suggested the best method was to drown them.

I have heard of people catching them in live traps and using that method.  However I would not do that.

Since you said in Oak Ridge, I have heard of the Animal Shelter picking them up a few times over the years when suspected they may have rabies.
