Gallatin Gun IDPA match & Rifle side match

Recommended Posts

Well I'm embarrassed to say I got DQ'd on the house stage. Coming back across to get the other half/side of the house I hugged the wall to much and broke the 180. Not sure by how much but hopefully just barely. It sucks because I always make a point to be safe first I guess I just tried to go too fast. Lessons learned though. Still had a lot of fun hanging out and getting sunburned. Thanks to all for making it happen.

One of the things I try to tell new shooters over and over is to GET OFF THE WALL! Shooters have a tendency to hug that wall close. Not only does it create a dangerous safety issue with 180, but I also see shooters sweep their feet or point into the sky.

You're also at a competitive advantage if you will stay off the wall. You will see targets sooner and can slice the pie much faster with minimal movement if you just take a few steps back.

My neighbors are gonna wonder what the heck I'm doing running up and down the wall of my barn when I practice this haha. The worst part is that I had just got done talking with the SO about what normally get's folks on that stage!  :surrender:
