Lifestraw: $9.89 on Prime Day

Recommended Posts

I find it very hard to believe that the mini can filter 100K gallons of water. I have filters that are much, much larger that will not filter 1/10th of that without becoming clogged.

I tend to avoid products who makers make outrageous claims and being able to filter 100K gallons of water with a $15 filter is an outrageous claim.

Who really knows and who's going to run 100k gallons through any filter made for survival? However, if it makes a difference, it includes the ability to back flush the filter in order to unclog it and extend the life of the filter.

I have the Sawyer Squeeze filter (not the mini) and the back flush works well. But I just use it for backpacking/shred and I've only had a few dozen gallons through it.

It really depends on how you plan on using it. If someone seriously thinks they will need to filter 100k gallons of water, then they should already know to look at other options. Edited by Slappy

I have a couple of lifestraws in my safe I bought a couple of years ago or so. I have a sawyer that I carry in my oudoors bag for fishing, hunting, 4 wheeling ect.  It's the same price but seems a bit more sturdy to me and more compact that the lifestraw.
