Shooting the Broccoli

Recommended Posts

Seen on a tee shirt during a friend's trip through Utah:

"IF GOD HAD INTENDED FOR MAN TO BE A VEGETARIAN HE WOULD HAVE MADE BROCCOLI MORE FUN TO SHOOT AT."

At long last somebody found a suitable use for the @#$%^ stuff.

Personally, I love broccoli. It's an elusive prey, however. Fond of taking shelter in cool wet places that are well-lit and crowded, broccoli knows a would-be hunter will not be able to take a clean shot. The easiest way to capture this prey, is to snatch it up, smother it with a plastic bag, and haul it out of it's den in a metal cart along with some its friends, like a ribeye steak and a baking potato. YMMV

After my childhood and teenage years...I can't believe I'm saying this.

Steamed broccoli with my oriental meals, raw broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, onions, radishes, and leafy greens make a salad.

Not four kinds of chopped meat and boiled eggs with lots of honey mustard dressing.

Why not all of the above?  Of course, you forgot the cheese.  And I like ranch or bleu cheese dressing better than honey mustard (although honey mustard is great for dipping chicken fingers.)
