As of 10:30 last night I am now a Grandfather ! I am posting in Women And Firearms because it's a girl and I will teach her to shoot and hunt along with my son. She is 6 lbs. 4 oz and 20 inches long.

congrats.

Only advice I can offer is to don't be the guy that buys her a rifle for her first birthday.  That day is for the mother.  Buy the rifle for her.

Congratulations! A new generation of shooter is born to your family.  I recommend a Ruger Bearcat to celebrate.  It's a good starter revolver.  We started our daughters and then grandkids shooting at 4 years old sitting in dad's/PawPaw's lap.

Granddaughters are lots of fun. I make sure that every time mine goes home from here she's enlightened to some sort of useless skill or information for her parents to deal with.
