Glock 36 present production and any Glock 36 OWNERS

Does anyone here know if the current production of the Glock 36 still has any issues ? If the current production is working flawless then what did Glock do to fix the issues ?

I have looked online until I am blue in the face. There are so many lies and far fetched stories that you cant just go off of what you read on the internet . Plus there are some Glock fans that refuse to admit failure. I am a Glock fan but I'd be the first to admit a problem. I did have one a few years back with a rusted pin.

 Any information is appreciated .

I owned an early relase G-36 up until a couple of years ago that always ran like it was supposed to and carried like a G-19. It was a really nice feeling pistol that I wouldn't think twice about owning again. The thing to bear in mind whenever a particular Glock model has an issue is it doesn't pertain to all of that same model. It's generally isolated to a particullar lot number with the right mix of suspected components.

I've had one for a several years and I got it used.  It has never had a failure to feed, a failure to eject, or any other failure.  It just runs like all the Glocks I've shot.

I hit about as well with it as I do with my Glock 21.  In short I really like it and don't carry it every day only because it's a bit large for me to carry the way I normally dress.

I tried the Glock 36. It wasn't a bad pistol but it had everything you hate about a Glock with a small magazine capacity. That's not why I sold it. It would pinch a blood blister on my pinky finger every time I shot it. The space between the magazine and grip would snap shut on recoil and that's where my pinky was. When I compared it to the Glock 19, it was a no brainer. I traded it for a Glock 19. If you want a small Glock in 45acp get the Glock 30. The theory being, "If you can only carry 8 rounds, carry a 1911" You get a much better grip and trigger.

I carry the 30 . I was just wondering about the current production 36. I have turned down twp 36's over the years thar were used but the owner wanted to trade for them. I only turned them down for not being able to test fire them . I'd buy almost any  used Glock anyday but the 36 is one that I would want to test fire before buying new.

I just dont hear much about them anymore nor do I see many people carrying them.

That's because the 30 sf is a better bang for the buck with an XDs45 being everything the G-36 isn't. If you want a thin polymer 45 ACP handle the 36 and XDs45. It depends on what you want, I like the 36 and wouldn't be opposed to owning another but I like the XDs45 more.

I have a 36 that has never failed me yet. I had an XDs 45, and I couldn't hit the target nearly as well as with my 36. It was just too small, and didn't fit my hand. For ME, the 36 is perfect.

I am kinda jonesin' for a 30S, though... I've grown to like the 36 slide on the 30 frame.

How old is your 36 ? Around how many rounds have you put through it ?

I've got a G36 I bought from a member here in 2011(?), just when I was getting into Glocks. It shows a little wear, but otherwise works fine. No idea of round count on it, and I've probably not put 250/300 rounds thru it.

Never any issues with it. I too found it a bit heavy for my carry taste, but it's manageable, especially if you iwb. I don't.

I just didn't have the fondness for it as others 45 pistols. I like the 21 and 41 models, but find myself shooting 1911 and an old XD45 tactical before the 36.

I got it used, and I have no idea how much it was shot before me. Didn't look like much, the barrel hood didn't have a mark on it. I've run probably less than 200, myself. I can't find a serial number list on the 'net. SNGxxx, if anyone has a resource.

What sort of issues are you referring to? The only thing I've ever heard is with putting + extensions on the mags, and the existing spring not having enough oomph to push the rounds up.

I use the +0 extensions so the gun doesn't gnaw a hole in my pinky. Never had a malfunction. Never heard of any problems either.

I've had my 36 for 4+ years now, I'd guess ~ 500 rounds through it with zero problems. I got it originally to carry during the summer as I carried a M&P 45 during the winter however it has been my main carry piece for the last 3 years. Love it!

Thank you.  I bought it in 2010 I think, and have never had any kind of jam.  I swapped out the backplate for one with the eagle, globe and anchor of my Marines.  I always carry a .45, swapping out the G36 for a Colt New Agent and a Ruger Vaquero depending on the mood of the day.
