Not surprised at all... Once out of the over burdened city many of the folks I've known from CA were just as freedom loving as the rest of us are...

Great.  More Californians are moving here.

Well just saying...would much rather have a conservative person who appreciates liberty and freedom than some of the other left leaning liberals who seem to be flocking to Nashville.

Most people that I know from California that moved here are running from the same crazy BS we want to avoid ourselves.

Of course I've also had friends who were normal that moved to Cali and it turned them into fruitcakes.

I've been once.  I went to San Diego which is supposed to be one of the nicest parts of California.  Yeah, that one trip was enough for me.  If I want to be a minority, I'll go to Aruba or Bermuda.

I went with my wife to her family reunion near San Jose; it sincerely felt like being in another country. Her family is Filipino, so they all have dark black hair. We went to a mall and I got separated from my wife; usually I can just find her by seeing her dark hair just slightly taller than the clothes racks. Not this time--there must have been twenty women in the store who looked like her. I think this mall had the only location in America for a popular Filipino restaurant chain called Jollibee.

I had assumed that hispanics were the primary minority, but I was wrong. This area had a bunch of tech companies, and the racial make-up appeared to be Asian, Indian, hispanic, non-hispanic white, and black, in that order.
