New Guns For You in 2016

I'll play. I'd like to get a subgun this year, SBR'ed and silenced. I'm still debating between an MP5, an MPX or AR-based one. I guess there's not much difference between an AR with 9mm barrel and an MPX, except cost (gun and parts/accessories). And as I'm writing this, I'm leaning again more towards an MP5. Just an original classic. *sigh*...

I may have a Ruger 22/45 for sale soon. Stainless bull barrel, target model. Not threaded though. Full adjustable fiber optic sights and 5 mags. Magazine-disconnect safety is removed, but can put it back in if desired. If I sell it, I'll post it up on TGO first.

I've got a bull stainless , just not the lite. I will need a threaded barrel ......

I don't have a very large collection but lately have come to realize that my meager collection does already pretty well cover all of my 'needs' and the vast majority of my 'wants'.  Honestly, I'd be pleased if I could get one of the following three this year, listed by order of which I'd rather have (and I might not get any of them if I don't come across a really good deal when I have the cash to take advantage of it - and I would really be just fine if I don't):

1. A Ruger SP101 in .38/.357.  I want one with the wood insert in the grips to make a matching set with my Gp100.

2. A coach gun - preferably a true coach gun with exposed hammers and all

3. A snubnosed .44 Magnum of some ilk

To be completely honest, I think this year I'd be better off spending my increasingly limited firearms budget on ammo and shooting what I already have.  I would like to have a good bit more ammo on hand because with the craziness I think we will undoubtedly see as the presidential election looms nearer ammo will probably become hard to find, again.  Firearms are, of course, of very little use without ammo.

What new guns for yourself (new or used) will you seek in 2016.

As for me, one of these will be pulled from my top pool of wishes:

Glock 43, Colt AR Socom or a Savage 10/110 FCP HS Precision in 308 or 300 Win Mag.  An honorable mention may be a Sig P320 in 45ACP or 357Sig or if I have $1500 just sitting around, the Dan Wesson Valor or Specialist.

It may be later in the year before I can score.

Already got my first: Beretta A300 Outlander. Can't wait for turkey season. Next in my sights is probably a CZ75.

I need a mid-range deer rifle.  I need something to accurately shoot at 200-300 yards.  I want something that shoots remarkably flat so I don't have to worry too much about bullet drop or holdover.

Shooting with 357 and 45-70, I don't have good ballistics past 150 yards.

I have a nice Smith 686 4" waiting for me that used to belong to a dear friend of mine. That'll be one purchase I'll make early this year Lord willing. I've also been dreaming of a stainless Ruger Security Six 4", and I'd love to finally "pull the trigger" on a Smith TALO edition 686. Love to have the 586 L-Comp, but I AIN'T paying that stupid price! Might just get a 2.5 or 3" 686 and cerakote it. I need one more Glock 9mm too. Love to get a lever action Marlin .357, but I ain't paying those stupid prices either, so I might try for a .45-70, maybe. And I hope to get a Beretta 92A1 this year as well. And, I've been eyeing the Smith 640 Pro as well. And, and, and...............

No particular order of priority in any of this.

I agree with your thoughts, Jab. I even am considering "downsizing" the collection of firearms. Yes sacrilege, but I'm finding more and more that only a handful of them ever see any use; and I guess I'm just getting old and wonder what I'm going to do with all of them.

But back on track, ammo purchases I think will be my primary focus this year. Maybe a few more mags for my favorite pistols and rifles as well. But on the whole, I really am trying not to be influenced by new guns.

Well I found mine already from post #4. FNS9 with night sights. Didn't care for the sights either way. It was to good of a deal to pass on. First order online so I hope it all goes right.

Didn't go right. 5 days after I ordered it I got an email today saying "we have had an error in our inventory". Called yesterday and was told it would probably ship Monday. Hope to see a credit before my bill is due in two weeks. Not a good result at first time online buying.

I hope to add a Smith M686SSR within the next month or so.

For me I keep on going back to revolvers

I think I would like some type of AR. But I have never had a chance to fire any of the new models that are out now?

I would also like to add 1 more Henry in 22 Mag. After it i am stopping. Lol
