It's here, my 2500x is done (finally).

And the wait is officially over.  Picked her up today.  Pics below.

Some of you have seen me post some info about a custom rimfire benchrest gun I am having built.  It has been done for a few weeks, but I have been waiting on ammo testing to be done.  Well, today was the day for results.

I haven't even seen the gun, but I at least know it will shoot.  40 shot group at 50 meters came in at 15.3mm edge to edge.  As you can see, the 10 shots groups were a bit smaller.  I am sure it is going to outshoot me, I just hope I can learn to read the wind well enough to complete.  I had some groups down in the 11mm range in some other lots, but there was also an almost 19mm group in that same lot.  This one was most consistent overall.

I will add some pics of the gun when it gets here.  Should have it in hand on Friday if all goes well.  I pretty excited right now.  When I get the bill for the case of ammo, my enthusiasm may be diminished  .

Picked her up this afternoon! Didn't have a chance to do some good photo's yet, but even the bad one's make it look pretty decent. I have to admit, it is even better than I expected. The stock is incredible in person. I think I need medium instead of high rings, but I'll see how it goes. Now to just get out and shoot it.

The build specs are:
Action: Stiller Precision 2500x RBLP
Barrel: Shilen Ratchet .900
Stock: Lidgard in Paduak
Trigger: Flavio Fare'
Tuner: Harrell
Scope: Sightron SIII 10-50x60mm
Gunsmith: Richard Gorham
Action Bedding: Tom Meredith
Rest: Arnold Machine
Killough Shooting Sports is where I bought all of the components and they did the ammo testing.

Thanks everyone.

Dave, I am planning to attend matches in Chattanooga, Paducah, Bristol, and up near Owensboro. If all goes well, I want to try and start an ARA match at Strategic Edge. I have talked to Tony about it briefly, but I want to attend some matches first and get a feel for how things go. It would be nice to have a "home" range for matches.

That gun sure would look good with a UTG scope on it. Maybe an NC Star red dot.

Needs a Butler Creek recoil pad on the stock... be honest, going through a whole 50 rd box of Blazer 22 will leave a nasty bruise on your shoulder if you don't have the proper recoil management equipment in place. We've all been there, right?

But seriously, wowzers!

It made by Arnold Machine. Cliff is a great guy. There are similar rests made by Hall and Pappas. I like the Arnold version the best, hence why I got it over the others.

Thank you! I found the Hall and the Pappas rests, but I didn't find the Arnold Machine. Sorry to bother you, but if you happen to have a link, I'd appreciate it.

Cliff doesn't really have a website.  He is a shooter who just happens to own a machine shop and he built a one piece rest based on a similar design to the Pappas with some improvements.  What I like about him is he will make some adjustments based on what you want for very little extra.  I had him move up my controls two inches and I think he charged me $25 or something cheap.

The easiest thing to do is email Cliff (colt60@ymail.com) and ask him for some pictures and pricing.  He is very easy to work with.  If this helps, here is a thread that shows my rest in a bit more detail.  http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/91838-craftsmanship-is-still-alive-and-well/

If you have questions on specifics of what I chose and why, just PM me.
