Heard Mayor Megan Berry Speak Today

Went to a breakfast today where Mayor Berry spoke.

I felt pretty good about her relative to Second Amendment rights considering that she is a liberal.

Here's why:

1. She repeatedly talked about conversations with all stakeholders.

2. She talked a lot about asking the right questions.

3. She specifically talked about youth violence and work being done there.  She didn't say anything about gun control.

I got the feel that she is savvy enough to know that gun control won't work, that she understands that Tennesseans love their guns and that gun companies create jobs.

Of course, I'm drawing these conclusions from a speech given by a politician, so who knows what the truth is.

My understanding of this is that The State Attorney General

came in and told both The Fair Board and Berry that they did not have the legal standing to revoke the existing contracts.

I really don't think either the board or Berry was happy about it. It keeps all parties from lining their pockets on prospective sale of the fairgrounds for a little longer.

At least that's my poor opinion and recollection of the events.

This is the same mayor Berry that just put an end to gun shows in Nashville, is it not?

The fair board did that. The mayor has no official vote on that board. That is to say that officially, no, the mayor did not do that. It's speculation to think she had a hand in it. Reasonable speculation, but still just speculation.
