Savage arms ditches Indian head logo

Recommended Posts

I did like their old logo, don't like this one.  Though the 110 FCP is on my radar, will this change impact me, probably not, but I don't like the caving to be PC.

I am just about the most politically incorrect person I know, but I kinda understand Native Americans getting offended by some things.

I'm not sure where the name Savage came from, but Natives most certainly don't like being referred to as savages anymore than a black person likes being called a nigger, and for good reason.

It's not being a politically correct pussy to show a little compassion for a group of people that have been sh!t on all throughout history.

Well if they are trying to be politically correct; a name change will be next.

You are correct. It's not the logo that was offensive, it was the name tied to the logo. Just like the Redskins logo is not what some folks are upset about, it's the term Redskins that people claim offense to. Changing their name to something like American Arms and showing that same Indian logo could foster a sense of pride among both Indians and Whites. We all still know what Savage refers to.
