Recent post quick link?

I was wondering if we could get a quick link button to other recent post besides just "Today's post"? I like the Today's post quick link and use it a lot, but sometimes I am not able to get on here and check each day's post. I may log in from time to time to see if I have any PM's (yes I know I can have it sent to my email) and read a couple of post of specific interest at the time, but don't always have time to read every one. Then once I log out, my "New post" on the portal page is reset. I find that I miss a lot of threads the first time around and then might catch them a little later once someone else reply's to them or may not at all. Although small, I still find it a little of a pain to go in and manually check each forum topic to see if there are any new post.

My suggestions:

1) Expand the "Today's post" quick link button store a couple of days or weeks worth of new post on additional pages. Of course, keeping the newest on top.

2) Make a new quick link button altogether, maybe call it "Recent post", and have it store a few weeks or even up to a month of the most recent post. You could use a format like Microsoft Outlook:

Most recent:

Last week:

Two weeks ago:

Three weeks ago:

One month ago:

Just a suggestion....I don't know if it's possible or not, but it would be nice. Oh, and if there is already something like this in effect, let me know where it is. I haven't been able to find anything.

Any more thought to this topic? I ran into the same thing today. I've been away from a computer for the past couple of days and had 299 post since my last log in. As it usually is hard, I couldn't read all those post at one time, and now since I have logged out and back in again, my only choice is to go back thru all the sub-forums looking for any recent post that I might have missed.

Well here's what I found...

If you click on a forum you will see at the top of the page, a row of fields that allow you to sort the posts in the forum a variety of ways. Among them is an option to show posts from a certain # of days back in time.

Not quite what you were asking for, but it's a step in the right direction. I'll ponder on the other some more.

Thats pretty much what he's asking I think. Not sure though!

By the way, how do you do that snap of the page you were viewing, and then cut some of it off, then put a circle around it? Was it with SnagIt? Maybe I just havent played with it enough!

That's good. That will def. save some time, so I'll not complain, but will add one more thing. If we could combine that feature to where all the forums are searched instead of just the forum your in, that would be golden. That is what I was originally talking about, but this is def. a step in the right direction. Thanks a bunch!
