Sig Sauer p232

FortKnox

Recommended Posts

I was in TN Gun Country and they had it for sale around $425. I looked at it and loved it's look and feel but, it had one major problem (to me anyways).

You see the magazine release is at the bottom of the gun. Which is the 1st time I've ever seen that. But, who knows maybe I'd get use to it.

Very well made guns, but rather "outdated" as far as size/weight : power ratio goes.

Not my first choice as a carry gun (you can get more effective cartridges in the same size or smaller these days), but good, well made weapons for sure... basically a refined PPK.  The only straight blowback gun that has ever done it better is the CZ83.

With their fixed barrel they are well regarded in terms of accuracy. Every one I ever encountered ran like a sewing machine as opposed to the Walther PPK. Their magazine release at the heel of the grip reflects their European heritage.

There are certainly more appealing "carry packages" nowadays in terms of weight, size and caliber. But, the all stainless steel Sig P230 and P232 with the addition of a nice walnut grip are absolutely beautiful in my book. Edited by Djay3

Had a nice stainless 230 a few years back. I shouldn't have sold it. Nice pistols, but heavy for a 380. But on the other hand...heavy=low recoil on it.
