Wish me luck

Be there and done that got the scars to prove it.  Mine was done back in the "old" days and it was rough.  Todays methods are a bit kinder.  Get well soon and give us a range report.

Ok, I couldn't run out of the hospital fast enough. I was out of the hospital in under an hour from the time I woke up. I am on my way home now.

No lifting for six weeks so if anyone needs anything from me it will be at least that long. But if you want to call feel free to do so, I have about six weeks worth of boredom to deal with.

Right now it feels like I have been in a rough bar fight with about a 1/2 dozen dudes. Definately did not win either.

I'm glad your on the way home, do what you need to do to get well soon. I'll send you a PM later with my contact info, might be able to swing a trip to take you and your Mrs. out to lunch.

I didn't see this thread in time to get in my well wishes before the surgery but I'll send them, now, for a full and speedy (as possible) recovery.  I am glad to hear that it all went well.

I normally am not worried about procedures but this time I was pretty worried about going under. I had severe chest pain about a month ago. The ER thought it was a cardiac issue so they pumped me full of blood thinners. They rescheduled the original surgery because of it. They did all kinds of tests to ensure it wasn't my heart but that was lingering in the back of my mind as I was being put under. Chest still hurts from time to time but it is slowly going away.

There is something good to come out of this. I have a new pain, although temporary, so that is a welcome break from my "normal" pain from the helicopter crash.

I tell you what, between this and the cardiac testing I should be good to go to start getting back in shape. Just going to have to wait a few months.

Glad you're doing well.

You need a vacation in a far away land.  A nice beach with as few people as possible.  If anyone here needs a friggin' break from life, it's you.  Take care of yourself.

So I was up doing laps around the bed and decided to snap a picture.

I didn't even know I was pregnant but with the screwing I took six months ago I figure it looks about right. Just hope I am not going to be giving birth in another three months.

I have two small incisions on either side of my belly button and they feel no more sore than when I got shot. The one that hurts like a mother is the incision where they went through my belly button, it is still stinging. The area where the mesh is hurts no worse than before, at least right now. I suspect that will change tomorrow.

Thanks for all the kind words, thoughts and prayers.

No prayers necessary, you're stubborn enough to make it through a little bump in the road like this.  I would offer assistance, but also know you'd rather be out push mowing a field on crutches rather than to ask for help.

Keep doing what you're doing!

They probably pumped you up with enough inert gas to inflate a small Macy's parade float!  I know when I had surgery and they did that, eventually the gas worked its way into my system and ... then the farts came.

Indeed. That was some serious relief.

You'll probably feel it more tomorrow. I'd guess the good meds they applied during surgery are still working.

Be prepared for some phantom pains in the vicinity of the mesh. I had them for a while after surgery. My doc's explanation was that the body knows there's something new in there but doesn't know what it is, so the nerves default to pain until they adjust. Mine varied from a dull ache to brief sharp pains. Nothing terrible, but enough to make me wonder if something was wrong.

Glad the surgery went well!  I know patience with slow healing is not my strong suit, and probably not yours either, but definitely listen to the docs on this one.  We look forward to you feeling better soon.
