I've spent a lot of money at Academy Sports, but....

I don't care what the guy bought. I found it odd that he randomly posted about buying $200 jeans in a thread about Academy sports pulling modern sporting rifles off the shelf, and allegedly keeping a list of people who the deem purchase too much ammo.

Nothing wrong with his post, I just found it odd.

Do you also find it odd that you took a statement out of context and are now trying to pretend that I just randomly swooped into a thread and posted that single comment.

I can outdo you. Let me post the pictures of my two Kolar shotguns. If you haven't heard of them Google them and see what they cost. That may be enough to fire the thread back up.

Holy geez. I have to say, just by quickly skimming their site they make works of art. But you know you could have accomplished the same goal for 1/8th the price ;)

You've posted several comments.I've read the entire thread more than once, and I don't see what a pair of $200 jeans has to do with anything else in the thread.

Congratulations on the jeans, however, if that's what blows your skirt up.

Where's Comms when you need him? In all seriousness I do miss him being on here. Hopefully someone can fill the void we were left with before the ban hammer strikes again.

Give this thread some time, some are showing promise ...

No I was lucky enough to get one and the second one was a blessing. I didn't see any point in getting anything other than the base model. One does have upgraded wood but I am hard on a gun. They get beat up and scratched quite a bit. I accidentally drug an Americase across my stock. I was a little pissed.

Any amount of money spent on a gun wouldn't make me blink an eye. Other things mentioned in this thread, I've blinked a bunch

I'd sell both of my Kolars for a machine gun or two. The sky is the limit with guns though. Krieghoff sells a Freedom gun for 135K.

I'm very, VERY lucky I have a close friend that owns 8 or so machine guns. I say I'm lucky because I can shoot his to scratch that itch and never have a thought of throwing my own money at one.

I have a friend and forum member that owns a few. While it is fun, it's too damn expensive. I definitely see the machine gun as a better long term investment than an expensive shotgun. A machine gun is a helluva a lot more fun than an over and under.

Agree wholeheartedly on the investment point. My buddy invested in the 90's and if I'm not mistaken a few of his have more than tripled in value.

If it's true it sucks. Academy has occasionally had things I needed at last minute, or stood as a place to send the kids to for gift ideas. Hate to say it but all they do is move sales of black rifles to the lgs when putting the squeeze on their customer base. But in the grand scheme of things, how many guys that spend serious coin on guns buy guns alone from there anyhow....
