Wifey wants to get a can!

Recommended Posts

Is she great or what?

Talking w/ the missus today, she suggested I look into getting a silencer so we can use our .22lr and not spook the animals/critters. I also recently acquired an AR lower receiver, so want to get 1 can to work w/ the .223 and .22 caliber rifles.

Though I'd love one, I doubt we'll ever have the funds to acquire an automatic gun, so should I bother w/ a trust, or just file to acquire the silencer as an individual? What forms do I need to file, approx. cost?

THANKS!

I've been thinking about this as well, though I'll probably make my own as I have the tools.

I was thinking that the way to do it is to aquire 2-3 cans that will work with several guns for me then after I have what I want form the trust and have everyone on it get all the background checks done one time.

I'd love to hear what more experienced folks here have to say...

You're paying for two stamps for each item if you go that route.  A form 4 for you, and then a form 4 for the trust when you transfer it in.

This is why I ask questions! I hadn't thought about that.

Thanks!

I guess it will be better to start the trust with just me to start then add the wife and kids after I have purchased what I want...

I will be looking for a trust attorney in the Chattanooga-Knoxville area.

I know one of the TGO advertisers is an Atty that works out of the Nashville area, but is able to work state-wide, and told me he could do everything over the phone/Fed-Ex/

(I think a lot of the meat-n-potato's is boilerplate legalese).

LMK how it goes for you. Last I looked into it the costs were prohibitive for my purposes.
