Went to the RK show in Knoxville , looking for bargains...All the good ones were market priced from the internet & the others were unbelievable ! No one is selling good cheap guns any more ! Nearly all 38 sp are more than 3 bills . The 9's are stupid high, except for the cheapo  pistolas that I would not buy on a bet. Alas, this is the market that I saw. Anyone have a Good Buy ?

I have bought a few guns at gun shows over the last few years and was happy with the deal. All were new but hard to find in gun shop models (Kel Tec, new on the market, etc) and usually listed over retail on the auction sights. I agree you don't find deals on the common stuff. I still like gun shows, even I just look.

I haven't been to a show in years. Last one was a Goodman show at the fair grounds and it was the middle of june or july, the A/C was broken, there was very little there I go to gun shows for (used/old/weird/cheap stuff), what was there was priced like it was Pattons personal colts and the cokes at the concession stand were like 5 bucks. Couple all that with nimrods going around flagging anyone and everything and I'll just pass.

The free jerky samples were good though.

The gun shows are the best place to sell guns as a private citizen I think.  Easy to advertise, fun to haggle, trades are plentiful, FFL's are right there, no risk of a shady meet up in a dark Wal-Mart parking lot with a possible meth head.  I've had great luck selling pieces of my collection from time to time.

There's too dang many of them to make a difference.  Years ago I was a member of the Houston Gun Collectors Assn. which had only two shows per year.  Well over 1,000 tables and no spa salesmen or trinket peddlers.  There were deals galore.  I don't begrudge RK or any dealer the right to make a living, but I don't go unless I have a specific need that can't be met elsewhere.

Concur there are no deals at the shows, market/internet pricing for the brain functioning vendors. I still like going 1 - 2 times per year to look at and handle firearms that have purchase potential down the road. If the knife sharpening system guy is there, I'll get my blade slicked up for $5
