  1. I'm not. I've dealt with the aftermath of fires before. I don't trust fire ratings one bit. I invest my money in insurance.

I agree with you that there's no substitute for insurance. I was just amazed at how well the contents of that little safe survived the fire when nothing else did.

  2. Yep my renter's insurance (Nationwide) covers firearms. I forget up to what amount, but it's certainly more than my meager collection is worth. Safes are fine and dandy, but if your house burns down, anything in that safe is going to be a pile of rust, I don't care what the "fire rating" of it is. A determined thief can do all kinds of magic to either open the safe or destroy it trying. Insurance is king.

I'm going to have to disagree about safes and fire. I recently had my lake house burn down. It was a total loss. (Just to give you an idea how bad it was, the remains of my 2500+ sq. ft. house fit into a 30 yd dumpster [after I recycled the metal]). Anyway, I had a small cheap firesafe ($179 at home depot) that had some papers in it along with the keys to my Bobcat. Nothing was damaged in the safe. I am now a believer in firesafes.

  3. I find it hard to believe that Savage actually has a million dollars. If he actually does, why did he have to start a legal defense fund and beg for money to pay his lawyers.

If Savage were half as smart as he thinks he is, he'd be a genius. I actually listen to him fairly often because our only other option in his time slot is Sean Hannity who seems to be limited to one thought per day which he repeats over and over.

  4. I've been to Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong and never seen dog on the menu. (Not disputing the OP. Just saying I never came across it.)

I have however, seen guinea pig on the menu in Peru. I haven't tried it yet...maybe next time.

  5. But they are being retried because of official misconduct, not on appeal. Or that is how I am reading it. Almost like the first trial never happened.

I could be reading it wrong.

    Dolomite

If this is indeed a new trial, is it possible that they could be convicted and receive the death penalty this time?

  6. Why does Mike McQueary still have a job at Penn State? Anyone who could walk in on a guy raping a 10 year old and not physically step in to stop it is not even a real man. Penn State has a lot to be ashamed for right now and having a wuss like this on their sideline is just one more thing of which they ought to be ashamed.

  7. I pay about $16/month for $1million umbrella liability but it won't pay for intentional acts. When you pull the trigger, even though it may be justified, it is an intentional act.

The NRA plan will reimburse you for your legal defense in a criminal case if you are acquitted by reason of self defense. It will pay for your legal defense in a civil case. (And yes, you can and probably will be sued even if you are acquitted or not even charged of a criminal offense.)

  8. You are wrong, no samples. The only place in the county you can buy it will be by the bottle in the gift shop at the distillary. There is no where in the county to buy it for consumption by the drink.

Thanks for the correction. I knew the laws had changed since I went there several years ago. At that time you couldn't even buy a bottle in the gift shop.

I guess if you want samples you still have to go to Kentucky. They make some fine bourbon up there.

  9. I have seen and used these trailers. They were actually very common in Washington State where I used to live. Mostly it was a sideline for equipment rental or landscape material stores. I was very surprised when I moved to east TN and couldn't find anyone who rented them here. (Perhaps it's because the hills make trailers very difficult to maneuver.)
