Finally picked up some Jim Beam Black at the recommendation of Mike 357 and enjoyed it. Definitely a bargain!
Also picked up some of this and am enjoying it tonight...
The quarter cask was good; the Beam Signature 12 yr was very good in my opinion.
Someone else mentioned the Ezra B 12 yr as well. I tried it at a buddies house the other day. Good spice without too much punch. I've definitely avoided it because of the cheesy looking bottling, but might pick some up when I start buying again ... apparently I have "too much" bourbon according to the wife. Is that even a thing? -
If this sort of stuff interests you; apparently there is a Podcast called "Serial" that does this similar this thing with a case. I've not listened to it yet, but it came up in discussion re: making a murderer.

I would happily pay $50 for Elmer and not feel ripped off. Unfortunately my shelves that hold my whiskey have started to bow from the weight of it all so I'm on a buying pause for now ... [emoji15][emoji15][emoji53][emoji53]

I got a bottle when they first came out. 129ish proof I believe, though I saw a few others around town (Nashville) at different proofs. Got home that night. Opened it up; gave it a sip; and almost poured it down the drain. This stuff is HOT. I had a cold though so decided to revisit later. About a week passed and again the same thing. Lots of burn throughout with little flavor. My nose was back to normal so I got my Elijah Craig Barrel Proof at 139.8 proof out of the closet and tried it. Definitely some burn (though subjectively not as much burn as the lower proof JD) but lots of flavor also. I was really disappointed in the JD at first. Finally tried it again about a month later and finally am getting some good flavor a out of it and the alcohol isn't as in your face. Overall it's turned out to be pretty good, but I had to stick with it awhile to get the bottle to open up to where it is finally enjoyable.Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Proof has been getting some excellent reviews. LiqourHound on YouTube, (this guy is a master and his library is second to none) put it in his 2 American Whiskey/Bourbons for 2015. He did a seperate review comparing some of the features of this bottle to GTStagg and others. So that sold me. Can't wait to try it. Would love to hear from others if they have tried it as well.

My wife and I just re-homed our fur baby. She did a lot of work on Craigslist. Weeded out a bunch of people, met the few that we decided were normal once or twice prior to selecting one. You might have decent chance there if you want to put in the effort. Pretty puppy. Good luck!

It's no whiskey and technically not a spirit, but still a really tasty beer I was stoked my local store manager set back for me. I didn't ask for one, but I didn't say no when he offers it.

My Santa shops this early ...
My wife is always saying there isn't a "safe" way to combine two particular interests of mine ... guns and bourbon/whiskey. Well Santa had the right answer with his gift: whiskey bullets!
And also a credit card survival tool I had mentioned in a thread some time back. I couldn't be more pleased with my Santa. He did a great job!! :) thank you!!

I've had 4 of the Ocean's releases. I've never been sad I bought a bottle. Y'all enjoy.
For my tastes the best 2 "on the shelf bourbons" are Elijah Craig 12 yr (although the age statement has moved to the back of the bottle) and Blanton's. If I had to pick one, Blanton's every day. Yummy.

Thanks for the in depth thoughts and pics. I don't ever tuck my shirt in, but do like the pocket carry and would love an option for the shield (I've not cared for other options I've tried to pocket carry it before).

If you're only choice is Sasha or Zombie in the glass room ...I'm glad I'm not the only one with that problem but I thought it had always been like that. I have always had to crank up the volume and still have trouble at times.
I watch with subtitles. My wife got me started on it. I used to make fun of her, now I do it myself and embrace it.

Pikesville is definitely worth picking up and priced about right. Tried it at Heaven Hill and went out looking for some around town the next day.
