  1. The 42 and 43's have a differently designed slide stop with a coil spring. The wiggling back and forth that works on all of the others doesn't work on these. If you press down on the inside of the slide stop, as close to the pin as you can, you can push the pin right out.

At my last armorer recertification, the Glock 42 had just been released and they didn't go over disassembly. I spent about an hour trying to get that pin out of the first one I took apart.

Good info! I couldn't get my pin out and ended up watching a YouTube video to get it out. Got really tempted to just put the punch on it and hammer it out.

  2. I have a Ghost Edge connector in my 43. Haven't had an issues with light primer strikes. Is it a better pull than the factory connector? In my opinion it is. Little less uptake and a crisp break. I enjoy having it in mine. Easy install.

  3. I liked the book. There wasn't a standard story like setup, but rather the different accounts and testimony of people who were in it first hand.
It was cool how some of them even connected to some degree.

I'm gonna catch the movie, but I don't think it will do the book justice.
  4. I will be traveling to Kansas in late July to pick up my GSD pup. Since I'm traveling alone, I wanted to take along my FNX 45 Tactical. I've been reading various sites to find out which states along my journey honor the TN HCP. I don't hit any of the major problem states such as Illinois.

Would I have any issue getting to the Wichita area with my HCP and pistol?

  5. It's growing for sure! I've got a few projects coming up so I'll have to cut back a little. Starting to outfit all the toys with proper gear.

  6. I plan on keeping my Scar 16 SBR in the trunk with me once my stamp comes back. Otherwise, in my bag, FNX 45 Tactical with the Osprey (stamp pending as well). Keep a G19 in the back with some extended mags for secondary pistol.

  7. I'm on the optic debate right now. Vortex looks to be a good choice. I was thinking maybe a T1 or the SRS (just too much coin tho).

  8. Congrats! I bought one many years ago. Still one of my favorites in my collection. Ammo can be a bit tricky to find, but it's available. I don't shoot mine as much for that reason. Buy I will never part with Five Seven.

  9. I've gotten to shoot Cartel's bolt gun and I got hooked. As the one who introduced him to firearms, this was a friendly payback on why I should own a bolt gun.

That stock completes the build IMO.

  10. Scar 16 SBR suppressed (if I could take it as well, throw in the Scar 17 suppressed)

    FNX 45 Tactical suppressed

Machete or long knife of some sort.

Almost done reading World War Z and the zombies in it have to have the head/brain destroyed for full destruction otherwise they can still be animated. Great book by the way.

  11. he ordered the hottest (Damn Hot?)

They have a new variety now above that called "Shut the Cluck Up." I'm afraid to try it... I can't take anything above just "Hot."

You're right. I forgot about the Shut the Cluck Up. I personally like the Southern or mild blend. I don't know how people eat the burn your stomach hot.

  12. If you like hot chicken, be sure to check out the Hot Chicken Festival that is held July 4th Weekend in East Park (off of Woodland St in East Nashville). I went the first year and I had a love hate relationship with hot chicken for about 6 months. I think I burned a hole in my stomach lining. Lots of vendors and they had a beer tent setup, Yazoo hosting the tent.

Also, newest place to join the ranks is Hattie B's in Midtown. I have eaten there a few times. First experience was the day the opened. Their recipe was hit or miss at the beginning but they've fine tuned their spice. Recently took a buddy who had tried it as well and he ordered the hottest (Damn Hot?) and he was blown away by it. He's a foodie here in town and you could tell he was feeling it. I sat back with my beer and just laughed.

In comparison to Princes, I believe that will always remain a true winner in many hearts. It was one of the originals in the hot chicken game. Yes, Nashville, surprisingly is known to be THE hot chicken city. We're evolving as a foodie city too, but I'll save that for another post.
