I use a Leica for work everyday and they are great rangefinders. I also have one for my personal kit. Thats a very good price.

I use a spotting scope a lot for work. I am issued a Leupold Mark 4 with a Mil-Dot reticle. This is what I am use to so anytime I look for something for my personal kit or anytime I give advise on a spotting scope I use it as a measuring stick. I have also used most big name spotting scopes so I know the difference of clarity cost etc. I would consider the Leopold Mark 4 to be a mid level spotting scope with Swarovski and Meopta sitting at the top of the class.
I know your looking locally. This will probably limit your options. Also cost will limit your options. You can spend from 3-500 to 5-6000. What is it going to be used for? You will also have to consider the quality of the tripod or how you are going to attach it i.e. shooters bench.
I would recommend looking at SWFA and EuroOptics. SWFA will have very low end to high end and EuroOptics pretty much carries best of the best. You can go in and read reviews on the spotters then google them for more info. If you find something you like check the prices out on E-Bay. I have found some smoking deals on glass on E-Bay. Even if something is used you can buy with confidence. And with shipping what it is today you can find something today and have it at your house tomorrow.
I hope this info will help. I am pretty OCD when it comes to glass. You definately get what you pay for.

I have had none of these issues with my 9mm Shield. I carry a Glock for work and have since 96. I really do like them and they are great pistols but I find myself carrying my Shield when not at work. I really like the way the Shield shoots and the ease to conceal it. When I'm not carrying the Shield when I am off I generally have my FS H&K VP-9. If you like Glock's you would love the VP-9.

Sniper hide, on youtube, does a one minute test out to 450 yards against a 7,000 dollar AI rifle. I think he was 18 for 18 with the AI and 14 of 14 with the Ruger. There are some other test of the rifle on youtube as well. I have custom 700's and several other sniper systems I plan on shooting against it in the future to see how it compares. One things for sure the price is great! I got mine for 920 so another 880 on a Burris scope and some nice rings for 150 and I will take a bipod of another rifle and I am still under 2,000.
These look pretty cool. I would like to see an unbiased test against something like the Remington 700 VLS or a comparable Savage. If that is possible.

East TN is an awesome place. Lots of stuff to do if you are an outdoors type. I'm in the Knoxville area and really like it.

I found out about TGO recently so here I am :-). I'm looking forward to the knowledge we have here in the great state of TN and to meeting new gun enthusiast.
A little about myself; I spent 7 years on active duty in the Army. Most of that time was at Ft. Bragg. After the Army I stayed in Fayettenam and worked in law enforcement for almost 9 years. During that time I worked various jobs from road patrol, SWAT, SAR commander and detective. In 2004 I was offered a job contracting in IRAQ and here I am still contracting. I have worked in Iraq, Kuwait, Israel, West Bank and Afghanistan.
I am an armorer and specialize in AR's, Glocks and HK's. I spend a lot of time on HKPRO forum since I collect HK's.
Thanks for accepting me into TGO and I look forward to chatting with you all,
Charles

I just bought two of these last week. I can't wait to SBR them. I got them for a little under 780 a piece.

Meprolight has a 2 MOA or smaller red dot sight that is made for the TAVOR. It is very nice and can be bought for less than an E-otech. They are also built better than an E-otech. Almost all the Tavor's are issued with these in Israel.

$920 is really good pricing. Where did you score it that cheap?
It was ordered from a local gun shop in Crossville. Not sure of the name. My friend ordered one for him and myself. I am currently in Afghanistan. I am hoping its in before I get home in October. I will post pics etc. on it when I return home.

I just joined TGO so this will be my first official post :-). I have been on other forums for years but did not realize this one existed until recently. I have many long range systems from Steyr to Remington to HK so this "Precision Rifle" got my attention, especially at a retail of $1399.00. I was fortunate to order one for $920.00. So far the reviews are great. All you need to do is put some glass and a bipod and your ready to go. I can't wait to unbox mine when it gets in.

Thoughts on this barrel?

That barrel should be fine. It was made by Green Mountain, a good manufacturer of barrels, even though it was modified by this company it should work great for your application. 1/10 is a normal twist rate and nice that its already threaded 1/2x28.
