My brother in law who is 20 yrs old, going on 12 told me he voted for O' because he was afraid his girlfriend wouldn't "put out" if he voted for Romney.

Out of all the reasons to vote for Obama, this one is the best. :no1:

  2. Of course, it should be that the state should compensate you somehow for the hassle, duress, embarrassment, expense, and inconvenience of the whole ordeal. Which hasn't ended yet, even though the mistake has been admitted.

Not to mention the clearly unlawful taking of your permit.

But that isn't in the cards.

    - OS

We're taxed enough already. We don't need extra dollars going to compensate people who have been victims of sloppy data entry.

  3. Tennessee is an 'intent' violation statute when it comes to weapons. Possession is not illegal, the carrying a firearm or knife over four inches with 'intent to go armed' is. Arkansas is very similar in that the 'carrying of a weapon with the purpose to employ it as a weapon against a person' is a misdemeanor.

    KENDALL v. STATE.

This is Kendall V State an old TN case. There are references to other cases.

It is squirrelly in that, in theory, you could possess that handgun not as a weapon/intent to go armed but as a paperweight, a prop for pictures. The statute does not on the face make a loaded handgun illegal. Only having it unloaded as a defense to prosecution to 'intent to go armed'. You could still have it unloaded and still have 'intent to go armed' in theory.

What do you intend to do with the handgun? Is it for target shooting? Snakes? Critters? Something you just like to look at as an heirloom? That wouldn't seem to be 'intending to go armed' whether loaded or unloaded.

Now if you have it for self defense, THEN that would be intending to go armed...according to my reading. Whether you have ammo close by or not, having the handgun for offense or defense is still 'intent to go armed'. Now the state adds that basically putting the handgun in the trunk and ammo away from it as a defense separate from the criminal act of 'intent to go armed'.

Your reading comprehension needs improvement. This "loophole" you have found does not exist. Citing the case you linked in a court of law to defend carrying without a permit would only delay an inevitable "GUILTY" verdict.

  4. Did yall read my o.p. though?, the cz,with all the extras and 200 rounds for the kel tec and nothin extra, maybe ill shoot 100 through it then get the kel tec.i thought i might stick with this one, because i have 2x the distance in accuracy40-50 yrds with cz, what 20-25 if lucky with kel tec(correct me if im wrong) ?, but im just torn

Yeah, everyone read it. You've gotten a lot of great feed back. Time to sack up and make a decision.

  5. I know,

    I was ribbin people.

I can just see it now though a newb buying a gun and finding the bullet in the little envelope in the case and getting all bent out of shape and what not.

    LOL

Hopefully the newb doesn't call the shell / casing a bullet.

  6. "Every month that we do not have an economic recovery package, 500 million Americans lose their jobs."

Maybe she counts illegals as "Americans"? Bwwwwahahahaha!

On another note, it's becoming obvious why Democrats in office don't mind raising taxes - looks like none of them pay taxes anyway.

  7. *captain obvious* Gold has remained a valued item through out time. Any collapse would eventually be followed by rebuilding. Knowing this, gold would be an accepted form of payment for any item.

I would gladly trade all the TP I have for gold in a time of crisis...or any time for that matter....and welcome the opportunity to trade 8 rolls of charmin for gold. Then I'd be able to put some of those t-shirts I never wear to good use.

  8. That's a hilarious vid. I had not seen that.

Jim Shockey is hard to book a trip with.

I tried to book a Moose hunt last year,I couldnt get an exact price but the ball park was 20k and would not be able to go until 2010.The 50% deposit turned me off because of the 2 year wait.

The $20k didn't turn you off?!

Per advice in this thread I tuned in to a Jim Shockey show. It was good.

  9. Jim Shockey's Hunting Adventures, Realtree Roadtrips, and anything Will Primos puts out. Those are my favorites. If given the chance, I would most love to share a hunt camp with Jim Shockey and (laugh if you will) Ted Nugent. Jim is the real deal, and Uncle Ted is a "passionate character" (translation... borderline psychopath--in a good way!)

Anyone who wouldn't hang out with Ted Nugent would be missing out on a great story.

I've seen some Realtree Roadtrips and liked those. I'll dig up some Jim Shockey.

    Thanks!

  10. NO DOUBT that he is a US Citizen, NONE period and end of that discussion. HE IS A US CITIZEN!!! That's not what is in question. What is in question is whether he fulfills the "natural-born American" clause in the Constitution.

    Test tube baby?

I don't know how to tell you this, but he's going to be the new pres. I didn't vote for him and I'm not as filled with hope as some....but I'm an american and I'll support the President elect until I have a very good reason not to.

side note: One thing that really bothered me about the Bush term(s) (I didn't vote for him either) was the utter lack of respect for the President. It wasn't an issue of free speech as much as it was lack of tact that bothered me.

    *gets off soapbox*

  11. Hey all. I've been lurking for a couple of weeks and have been enjoying the forum. I decided to register since I purchased my first firearm today. Mossberg 88. :stare:

It doesn't compare to 99% of the guns everyone has, but for $140 I don't expect it to. I made the purchase for home protection.
