I wish I coukd get away with holsters like that. I have what doctors like to call "a little bit of a weight problem" and exposed sights dig into my jelly roll sumthin' fierce. My holsters have to completely cover the inside face of the gun. :/
Even though I don't have that problem I prefer in the pocket. Butts still stick me in the side.
And I can not use an inside waistband conceal carry belt holster because I have a back problem.
And I can always use the shorter 7 round mag that also come with these handguns which does help with the jab in the side issue, just not as good to use though being too short for a good solid grip.

If your using a smartphone for pics then e-mail the pics to yourself. It should prompt you to pick a pic size mode. Pick either small or medium then upload them to your pic account. Those will then easily transfer to TGO.
I tried that and even tried resizing, but won't take. Yes, a phone I use.

Are you going to change your EDC? What do you think about EDC, at night, with the ported Shield's flash?
I haven't shot it in the dark. Just day light outside. and inside a range.
Outside I didn't really notice. Inside the the range I did notice the flash more, but nothing that made a difference for me.
I like the ports because it has a tad bit less recoil then without.
My EDC will be both. Depending on my mood is all.

My EDC has been the S&W M&P Shield 9mm #180021 and I have no complaints with it. I absolutely love it as a matter of fact. I recently purchased the Ported Performance Center version #10108 and even though I find the differences suttle, I actually do like it even moreso. The ports actually help with the recoil a bit. The enhanced trigger is smoother and gives less fatigue after shooting many rounds. The best feature are the sites. For me it's much easier to focus, day and night. The combination of the back red sites and green front site I think also helps with the eyes.
Overall the 100 dollar price difference is worth it to me, to some though the price difference may not be worth it being the differences are suttle. If you are a pro with the Shield already, you may prefer the lower cost standard Shield. But if you are not a pro, don't mind the price difference, or just like a gun that I think looks cooler, then the Performance Center ported version is best. Heck, not saying though a pro wouldn't want it, too!
Again, based on my opinion and likes!

This poll has been interesting for my interesting mind. ;)
Thanks! -
What, no zombie apocalypse choice?
Lol...I did think about putting that as an option when I posted this poll!
I watch The Walking Dead and am now prepared! :) -
Yes it does. Yes. It. Does.

I don't meet the criteria for this being I'm new here, but I still want to wish you and everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I like to go light. Mall ninja is for amateurs. I go scuba ninja.
Oh man never saw this coming! Lol -
Mine was only for self defense and to protect family and others if need be. But now I enjoy the range. And being less than a 2 minute walk from the range got me hooked now!

This seemed like the area to post this.
Poll for curious minds and for fun!

Not all that far from Knoxville. Depending on traffic, 40 mins. give or take.
Sevierville here.

Well...to be fair, I carry it clipped on the pocket, and carry very little in my pocket. And since my retirement, it doesn't get the use it once did.
Since my retirement my blade doesn't get used much either. So I went to my Tanto blade auto clipped to my pocket for protection purposes and for use when needed. Pockets, don't carry much either. Along with my blade, just a front pocket wallet is all. More weight will be on the belt now, which there never was. lol

Hello. I'm new to TN a transplant from the Adirondack mountains in the great white north of fascist NY.
I've been an active 4 position small bore shooter for 25 years, I've also run and shot IDPA, IPSC, & IHMSA matches but it's been a while.
Being that I'm new to TN I'm looking for good places to shoot. I've looked on the forum but not found a places to shoot topic. Maybe I've missed it some where.
Is there such a list?
I'm looking forward joining the TN shooting community.
BobBtw, welcome to TGO. I am new here myself!

And if you suspect a gun has been reblued...test it first! I've used Hoppes #9 for years. But got a police trade in Smith model 10 a few years back and started cleaning. All the blue came off.
But it looked great and was clean! lol
Good to know....thank-you!

Before I posed this question here on TGO I sent an email to Bushnell with the Hoppe's #9 question I had and they just now replied back with the replied:
11:48 AM (15 minutes ago)to meMark,
Thank you for contacting Bushnell customer support. I’ll be happy to help you.
The Hoppes 9 is the original formula with ammonia that is highly corrossive. You want to make sure not to let it sit on non metallic parts as it can cause damage to those parts. The Synthetic Blend is a non toxic, ammonia free cleaner that is much less corrossive and not as likely to damage non metallic materials. For complete information regarding the chemicals in the solvents and proper use, refer to http://hoppes.com/global/customer-service/sds-information for the material safety data sheet info on them.
Thanks,
Joe

It's biodegradable. And you aren't suppose to use the original on nickel.
Ah, okay thanks for that info!

Maybe this will help:
http://www.hoppes.com/bore-cleaners/no-9-ultimate-synthetic-bore-cleaner
Thanks. Does the same as the original #9 Bore Cleaning Solventl from what I can see, except this one is synthetic. Why 2 is what I wonder. I just have a curious brain! :) -
I was told that the #9 Bore Cleaning Solvent is just to be used on the bore itself and the #9 Synthetic Cleaning Solvent on the rest of the internal or inside parts of the gun. Hmmm, makes sense?
-
I have never used Hoppe's before and I have both of these. What's the real difference between these two and which one of these is preferred for pistol cleanings by you all? I do know the original is the #9 Bore Cleaning Solvent, so why the Sythentic Solvent?
Thanks!

.... another thing I noticed when taking out of the box and removing from the protected plastic sleeve was that the PC model the outside of the slide was nicely oiled lightly where as with the standard it was not. They were both new in the box. I do not know if this is only done with the PC version or if S&W just started this. Either way, that was nice to see!
