  1. MWD9557's post in Hoppe's #9 Sythentic Cleaning Solvent vs. Hoppe's #9 Bore Cleaning Solvent? was marked as the answer
Before I posed this question here on TGO I sent an email to Bushnell with the Hoppe's #9 question I had and they just now replied back with the replied:

CustomerSupport <customersupport@bushnell.com> 11:48 AM (15 minutes ago)   to me             Mark,

Thank you for contacting Bushnell customer support. I’ll be happy to help you.

The Hoppes 9 is the original formula with ammonia that is highly corrossive. You want to make sure not to let it sit on non metallic parts as it can cause damage to those parts. The Synthetic Blend is a non toxic, ammonia free cleaner that is much less corrossive and not as likely to damage non metallic materials. For complete information regarding the chemicals in the solvents and proper use, refer to http://hoppes.com/global/customer-service/sds-information for the material safety data sheet info on them.

    Thanks,
