  1. Go for quality if your budget allows... I have a Sig p238 w Crimson trace laser and it works perfectly in a Disantis Nemisis holster....if you want more punch you simply cannot beat the quality and accuracy of the Kahr PM9.... A little heavy for my pocket, but possible. I prefer it in my Disantis Cozytuck....

  2. Pro Carry II....awesome...zero issues. Remember there are a number of factors when you hear someone complain about any gun...often it's the care of the owner, not the gun. Try one yourself and be your own judge. Most of the finer 1911's will serve you well if you learn to take care of them. I will say, you need to be meticulous about keeping them clean....if you're not inclined to put in the work taking care of one.....get a Glock..I have one of those too and they are incredible..just a different flavor.

  3. took my P238 to the range today and ran 50 rounds through it...wow..what sweet little piece. Nice trigger, great sights for such a small gun. no FTF's shooting white box. I know it's more money, these are in another category than the Rugers and Keltec 380's....they have their place, but shoot fun is not one of them. It was an easy transition in the shooting mechanics as I was able to shoot my 1911 45acp alternating back and forth. I'm happy with it.

  4. Got mine last week at Arm's Fair in Cordova....call William, the owner...nice people...or go to armsfair.com ....and you can see what they have in stock.....nitron with night sights...love it. If you beat them out of a laser at Gander...I bet they made sure it was the last one! Arms' fair also has a used HD p238 in stoc w night sights...$550...heavier..

  5. I have an early 9mm.( w/o the crapping looking white lettering on the slide) .no rust, I cannot recall a ftf in hundreds of rounds...best grip for me and the one that I shoot most accurately. A little large to conceal, but if you want a shooter...you cannot go wrong...

  6. Well...decision was made for me....Kahr MK9 sold, so I bought the SigP238...basic Nitron with night sights...very happy with feel, size, weight and sight line... looking forward to the range. I do like the Kahrs, though. fondled a p380 before I made the decision, but the sig just felt better for me and it was about $30 less WITH the night sights. Had a 'born on' date of 1/4/11, so should be good to go.

Thanks all...I think we all appreciate the quality pieces.

  7. Looking at a lightly used Kahr MK9...love the size and the feel, sights; overall seems to be great on the quality scale. I read mostly positive comments other than that the mk is heavy compared to the plastic P9. And they are pricey. It's the weight that concerns me, but I do not carry everyday. My alternative is a new Sig P238..equal on quality, equally pricey but certainly smaller and about 8 oz lighter..Kahr DOA would be new to me, as is the 1911 type safety on the Sig... I'm on the fence....9mm is is an advantage for the Kahr.....Currently a Baby Glock 27 /SW M&P9 owner ...but looking for something more concealable...I just can't bring myself to buy an LCP ish pocket mouse gun that is no fun to shoot.

Enjoy this Forum and would appreciate all suggestions....

  8. Friends...Write your Senator and rep. NOW....I wrote Cory Todd an email a few days ago and received a phone call at home from him within 20 min!....It's a hot topic and there is legislation pending to make the info confidential but we need to speak up about it..He fully supports it....however, I have not heard from the Senator....which is not a good sign........the idiots at the Commercial Appeal think they have some 'right' to post this information and your problems finding your own name shows how ineffective of a 'tool' it is as they proclaim...I did find mine...just make sure you are searching your name exactly they way your carry permit was issued....
