I remember seeing a promotional video from this company back in the early 1990s and at the end the guy put on a vest, shoved a thick telephone book under it and proceeded to turn a S&W 44 mag upside down and put it to the vest over the phone book. After a bit of fidgeting he says “this is the part I hate” and pulls the trigger.

I may try again with a dowel. The ball hone was medium grit (said 180). The barrel flat spotted all the balls!!

So have you looked at replacement barrels? Not sure on price, but might save a bunch of trouble
Yes. I actually already have another 26” with a modified choke that I’ve been shooting. Other barrels that I’ve seen for sale are more than I paid for the gun.

Well, I spent an hour with the ball hone and got no where. Oh well.

They’re not local but Wright’s Inc in IL can do it. If it were mine, I’d had it threaded instead.
Everyone I’ve asked about cutting and threading it for choke tubes has told me the outside diameter is too small to allow it. At this point I’m gonna buy a ball hone and just do it myself.

All very nice. The three screw models with SAA style hammers....... oh yeah!

Hello. I used to get up to Kingsport for work. It’s a beautiful area.

Hello from NC today but East TN next week. The Charlotte part really caught my eye.

Anybody know a gunsmith who can open up a full choke to skeet or improved cylinder? I have an Ithaca/SKB 30” barrel with vent rib that the OD is too small to set up for screw in chokes. I live in McMinn County but travel to Chattanooga and Nashville regularly so anybody in those areas would be great.

It looks classic. I traded into a beater SBH that shoots great so one day when I had time in the shop I pulled the grip frame, welded up the “Dragoon corner” and turned it into a round trigger guard. After a little touch up blue I swapped in a Blackhawk hammer for the more traditional SAA look.

Did you change the hammers? They look “right” not SBH.

Both very nice. I’m a single action fan myself, partial to Bisley/#5/TLA grip frames.

Very nice.

Thanks for the invitation. PM coming.

Thanks Eray. I rode out to Chillowee last weekend but didn’t get a chance to look around.

Moved to McMinn County from NC a while back and was wondering about ranges or shotgun fields in the area.

Hi folks. As you probably figured out my name is Robb and I’m from NC. We semi-moved to Eastern TN a little over a year ago. Grew up hunting and shooting on a family farm which we now own and started reloading when I was 19. I worked with a guy back then who threw a handgun hankering on me and I’ve had it ever since. I’m partial to revolvers, esp single actions, but I’ve held a couple auto loaders over the years. For long guns I like old blued steel and wood .22s and M1 Garands. Most all of my toys are back at the farm but we are planning/hoping to spend more time here. I’ll be honest and say I’m more apt to sit and read rather than post much. I’ll throw when I can. Thanks for letting me hang around.
