  1. What did the Clunker program save the US Taxpayer?

    In the long term nothing.

The question we need to ask is

"What will the Clunker program end up costing the US taxpayer?"

The Clunker program was a drop in the bucket!!!

We give more each year in handouts to Israel for foreign aid, what does that SAVE the U.S taxpayer?

The money was already allocated in the stimulus anyway. I'm glad we had a credit for working Americans rather than the typical money going to welfare handouts, foreign aid, pointless wars, etc.

  2. to the op: you should of picked it up and threw at his face. then again, now'a'days you probably would have been arrested for a 'hate crime.'

But we where walking down the freezer isle and some id say 14-16 year old white kid started down the isle coming toward us and decided he had to show off or something when he saw us and started doing some half swingin waggle like his hip was broken or something :screwy: and chanting one of those umm well you know one of those "dark skinned type" music songs and looking at us.

There is nothing more pathetic than a White person who wants to emulate Black 'culture.'

  3. I handled the guns on my list today sans the CZ-USA.

Based on looks and how they felt I don't like the Beretta, Glock, or Springfield.

I felt they were too 'fat.' With that said, the reviews on the Springfield are numerous and the reliability looks to be like a Glock.

The Kahr is out because I feel it is overpriced.

I also felt the Walther and I really liked the feeling of it. A gentlemen at the gun shop was looking at the PPS and the Kahr PM9 and he went with the PPS. I will say, I like the smaller width of the PPS, I'm going to do some more research on the gun before I purchase though.

  4. Hey guys -

I've been looking at the following handguns. I'm interested in a sub-compact <$600 (pref. <$500). All in 9mm.

What do you think of the following:

    CZ-USA 2075 RAMI

    Beretta PX4 SubCompact

    Glock 26

    Springfield XD 9mm Sub-Compact

    Walther PPS

    Kahr PM9

I'm a gun novice, so I would like some suggestions on the above (or any others). I'm looking for something that I can conceal easy and is reliable.

  5. Please be careful were you buy it at. Franklin is not known for good deals on guns. Look at Hero Gear or Guns and Leather. These both are excellent shops.

Thanks for the information. I'm going to the range with a few friends this week.

I'll keep in mind not to purchase in Franklin, and probably Williamson. Rural Tennessee would probably be a better bet..

  6. I'm looking at purchasing a gun for self-defense and concealed carry (or hell, even open-carry but I would probably have the police harass me for that here in Franklin).

I've been reading on many different handguns and the Kahr MK9 interests me, I was wondering if any Tennessean here has heard of this handgun and has experience with it?

My friends have told me that I may want something in a larger caliber, such as a Glock 23 - 40 caliber but I really just want a weapon for self-defense/concealed carry.

  7. You should be able to find them pretty easy with the e-mail address; chances are they'll be on Facebook/Myspace if they're students.

If you post the e-mail, I'm betting someone here will find out their information.

  8. I don't understand why we do not have a guest worker program?

I'm for a guest-worker program with no path to citizenship, so the people who come here have multiple-children at tax payer expense will no longer have golden eggs (ie: the 'birth right').

It's our fault really, we elect the people who support this. Both Republican & Democrat, hell Bush was screaming for his amnesty program. And lets not forget the multitude of programs we allow illegal aliens to qualify for -- welfare handouts, free health care even Americans do not receive, food stamps, etc etc -- it does not end.

We need to know who is in this country; and quite honestly, we let in far too many legally -- asylum seekers, refugees, etc. These people are a complete drain when we need the best and brightest. We are no longer capable of allowing the entire world to flood in unchecked.

Hell, I recently saw a newsreport about African refugees in Nashville. The people had been here for all over 48 hours and there was already a stabbing. Ridiculous.

  9. I was under the impression that African-Americans have a much higher standard of living than in any country that has a Black majority. The suffering of their forefathers, purchased on the West African coasts, has allowed them to experience a standard of living far greater than would be possible elsewhere.

And the term 'minority' is absolutely ridiculous. Isn't the majority of the world's population in Asia? And the population of Africa will outnumber that of Europe soon, if it has not already.

  10. I'm from a suburb of Nashville and am saying 'hello.'

I'm not too well-read on firearms; however, I have a few friends who carry handguns... With the increasing crime here (gangs, stabbings, shootings, robbery, etc), I feel that I may need to protect myself from external threats.

Just the other day, here in Franklin, we had a young gentleman smash a woman's head in with a bat. Man Accused Of Fatally Beating Ex-Girlfriend - News- msnbc.com

I'm interested in a handgun that I can concealed carry. I haven't came to a decision yet, and won't for some time, but I'll be here researching.
