Very cool!
I've actually been looking to purchase a replica of the 1873 Winchester, but am not sure what are the best sites or companies to purchase from, if any are in stock, of course.

Hey All,
We are finally leaving our condo in Davidson County here soon and heading out to a new home in Shelbyville, and was hoping to get some further clarification & advice as to what ammo others tend to lean towards or have a box stored away for home defense for the AR-15, either in 5.56 or .223. I've been researching about soft point bullets, but have come across instances in which those tended to easily jam for some, then again I'm uncertain if that is necessarily a widespread occurrence, to say the least. Plenty of space between neighbors, yet not so much as to simply disregard them & their safety by any means, of course.
Granted, I know a handgun with hollow points is best for close quarters in a home in most instances, and do have my M&P 40 ready to go for that. I would like; however, to simply have one of my AR magazines close by, outfitted with home defense ammo as a quick go-to, as well.
As a newer AR owner, I've greatly appreciated learning a lot from different forums on here, and the knowledge & advice from so many of you, indeed.
Thanks!

Welcome, good sir!

Good price.
I just picked one up a couple hours ago at the Royal Range in Nashville, definitely liking the green dot.

Sig Sauer optics are actually made for them by Holosun.
Good to know, learn something new every day.

Thanks for the heads up!
I recently purchased a M&P 15 Sport II and have been researching ideal optics, and learned about past instances regarding Amazon & Ebay purchases, still sucks to see happen, though.
I've read good things about Holosun, but I'm leaning towards the Sig Sauer Romeo5. Can't go wrong with either though I imagine, both good product lines, indeed.

It's sad but true. The other day I was at a local LGS and was just looking around, they had some AR's and I was looking through the rack and found that they had about 5 S&W MP 15's for $750-$800 thought to my self that isn't a bad price, then it hit me the ammunition will cost me more than the AR, so I just put it back and came home.
I just ordered mine last night for $650, as part of a site's daily deal. I originally had wanted to get one from my local gun shop near me, but they had them listed for $899. While I am all for supporting local business by all means, kind of hard to pass that up. I did make sure to set up the Transfer through them, so at least I'll be able to give them some business as usual.

Good Afternoon, Everyone
Very glad I found this, indeed. I am in my late 30's, originally from Detroit, Michigan, but I've been in the Hermitage area for the last 15 years. I guess you can say I'm a beginner when it comes to practical use of firearms, but I have always enjoyed learning about them all throughout my life. I'm an American History nerd (military, political, etc.), and am well read on the history of firearms, but recently decided that I wanted to become more educated with every day use in proper gun safety, range shooting/defense, and all the in's & out's that accompany them.
Always been drawn to the M&P series, and recently purchased the 40. Also, would love to get the AR Sport II Rifle that I recently saw for a good deal. And to go old school, I have an older 9mm Taurus PT92 that shoots well, but is always funny to compare the weight between that and my M&P 40 whenever shooting at the range.
Look forward to learning more throughout this entire process, but as they say, better late than never at this stage of life.
Cheers!

Is there no such thing as an affordable lever action anymore?

I've been looking to purchase a replica 1873 Winchester for the old man as a birthday gift, if anybody knows some reputable companies to buy from that have any in stock.
