Hi Y'all,
I'm new to the forum and to the state of Tennessee. I just moved from California. In response to comments that I'm accustomed to getting when I introduce myself as a former California resident:
1. Yes, I will remember why I left
2. I probably will bring my politics with me, but they weren't that welcome in California, so it's good to be here
3. Yes, it's every bit as crazy as you've read...but fortunately I lived in one of the more moderate areas4. While I may save money in taxes...I might be spending what I save at the gun store. Just don't tell my wife.

Analysis of tn's cc laws
in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Posted
I just moved from California and to be honest, the gun buster sign (and law) was a surprise to me. I had a permit in CA, and while that was tough to get, I felt more freedom to carry there than here in some instances.
The general rule there is that a business can post “No Firearms”, but if you have a permit and are “caught”, they can ask you to leave. If you refuse, then you are trespassing and can be cited. I’m fine with that. Here, the thought that I would be committing a crime by entering a store with a sign seems draconian.
Has this been enforced anywhere?
